Abstract

A brush (1) for applying a liquid containing volatile solvents, in particular nail varnish, has a shaft (2), a bristle body being accommodated in the one end of said shaft and a connector (4) with greater transverse dimensions than the shaft (2) being moulded onto the other end of said shaft. Provided on the connector (4) is a circumferential annular bead (7) which is intended for a sealing contact with the inside wall (8) of the neck part (6) when the brush (1) is completely or at least virtually completely inserted in the neck part (6) of the bottle. Arranged on the connector (4) above the annular bead (7) are catch means (25), via which the brush (1) can be engaged with further catch means (26) in a screw cap (16) in such a way that it is held captively in the screw cap (16). <IMAGE>
