Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine medizinische Abfallzerkleinerungsanlage. The invention relates to a medical waste crushing plant.

The disposal of medical waste is generally geared towards the fact that, if it does not contain radiating or rapidly degrading, highly toxic or infectious substances, it should be taken up with the household waste disposal.

It is known that in the practicing doctors - both in dentistry and in human medicine - a lot of waste from different substances, e.g. B. in the form of disposable syringes, cannulas, bandages, rubber gloves, etc. The disposal of this waste should include both the separation of liquids and solids and the compaction, although the problem as such has become more serious. If one thinks, for example, of the growing number of AIDS patients and the fact that a treating doctor or dentist does not know at the moment of wound treatment whether an infection of this type is present, this system must be regarded as absolutely inadequate.

Although the volume of these waste containers between 5 and 20 liters is already limited today, the solids volumes in particular should not be able to be degraded quickly enough and essentially organic substances are largely reduced, since the current space requirement ultimately determines the costs of disposal, ie final storage.

Another problem is presented by patients with noscomial infectious agents, such as e.g. Wound infections with staphylococci, coli bacteria, etc. The latter in particular cause so-called smear infections and are therefore extremely unpleasant.

It is therefore an object of this invention not only to separate the waste which arises, but in particular to convert the solids by manual intervention into a mixture which is as void of void as possible, with extensive prevention of dust escaping into the atmosphere during the comminution.

The solution to this problem according to the invention provides that a shredder with a subsequent slide shaft for guiding the shredded material into a separator is arranged in a cohesive, but consisting of several sections in its upper region, the separator for separating the liquid and the Solids is provided and has a storage at the bottom of the housing and an outlet for the liquid and _ solids, and the housing is fixed by a stand at a height that allows the replacement of the waste containers.

The waste material prepared in this way can - as a rule, that is to say insofar as it is not infectious - be taken up by household waste disposal, although a further reduction in volume can be achieved by the following processes. A pyrolytic aftertreatment should be considered here in particular.

Single-shaft shredders are proposed for the shredding of normal waste, provided that the material to be shredded does not cause any particular stress, ie wear. For this it is proposed that the two shafts of the forced shredder are paired by a spur gear drive, a shaft emerging from the shredder being provided with a ring gear that starts from a drive motor arranged at right angles to the ring gear via a drive shaft and a bevel pinion, the drive for the Forced shredder is formed, and that, in continuation of the drive shaft in the same direction, a front or friction wheel is provided for driving the separator arranged below the forced shredder with a friction or front ring, which is mounted in a final, inclined arc. The drive system thus drives a horizontally structured two-shaft forced shredder with a continuously guided shaft and a centrifuge-type separator, which is driven perpendicularly thereto, in one housing. Furthermore, in alignment with the storage of the separator bottom in the housing bottom, a turntable arranged for the multiple installation of liquid and solid vessels is provided, which after filling by swiveling out the vessels sometimes carries out a closure, e.g. B. a sweat closure.

Regarding the separator, it should be noted that this has a pot-like edge still drawn upwards and a truncated cone-shaped sieve is concentrically connected to the bottom, into which the slide shaft opens and in which, towards the inner sieve surface of the sieve, a scraper lifting off the solid layer is connected a stationary outlet in the inclined housing base for the solids is directed and the peripheral region of the separator base forms a sieve part into which the second outlet for the liquid provided in the inclined housing base opens.

Finally, it is also proposed that a device for surface treatment of the shredded material is provided to suppress the development of dust and for disinfection in the area of the shredder, leading into the separator, which device allows safe storage of the medical waste thus processed as domestic waste.

The invention is illustrated in an essentially schematic manner by the attached drawing of a medical waste crushing plant. Presentation explained in more detail.
  • Figure 1 shows the overall view of the waste crushing plant including an outlet for the liquid and the solids.
  • Figure 2 shows in the floor plan the turntable for the installation of the waste containers.

The waste comminution system 1 is essentially constructed in a housing 2 consisting of several sections. In the upper area of this housing 2 there is a double-shaft positive shredder 3, the shredding shafts 3.1 of which are connected by a spur gear pair 3.2. One of the emerging shafts 3.3 carries a relatively large ring gear 3.4 for the drive described later.

The comminuted material leads through a slide shaft 4 into the separator 5, which is delimited by a pot-like edge 5.1. The separator bottom 5.2 carries a concentrically arranged, truncated cone-shaped sieve 5.3, the remaining peripheral bottom region 5.5 also being formed with an annular sieve part 5.4. The frustoconical sieve 5.3 takes over the function of the separating sieve.

The solid parts are deposited on the inward inclination of the sieve surface and are removed from the wall by a lifting scraper 4.1 and passed through the opening 5.5 in the separator base 5.2 into the outlet 2.5 for the solids. Due to centrifugal force, the liquid is further displaced by the conical sieve 5.3, deposited on the pot-like edge 5.1 and separated via the outlet 2.4 to the liquid vessel 6.3 via the annular sieve part 5.4 arranged flat in the bottom.

The vessels 6.3 and 6.4 used are appropriately designed in their upper edge area for the arrangement of a plastic weld closure.

In the system, the drive motor 7 is provided, which, via an output shaft 7.1, first enables the bevel gear pinion 7.2 for driving the ring gear 3.4 and, in its extension, the drive of the spur or friction wheel 7.3. This wheel 7.3 engages in a front or friction ring 8 comprising the separator 5. Below the centers of the separator 5, a turntable 9 is provided for the installation of the vessels 6.3 and 6.4, the description of this detail being omitted.

Through the loading, a device 10 for surface treatment of the shredded parts opens, with the aim of largely suppressing the formation of dust and reducing the risk of infection to a minimum.

In addition, it should be noted that the housing 2 is carried by the stand 2.1 at a distance which enables the manipulation of the vessels 6.3 and 6.4, namely by three blocks 11 on a worktop.
