Bei Elektrofiltern zur Abscheidung von Flüssig­ keiten und/oder Feststoffen aus Gasen, insbe­ sondere zur Abscheidung von Flüssigkeitsnebeln und Aerosolen aus Industrie-Abgasen, bei denen die Niederschlagselektroden im wesentlichen vertikal verlaufend angeordnet und rohrförmig ausgebildet sind, besteht die Gefahr, daß es im Austragsbereich der aus den Gasen abgeschiede­ nen Flüssigkeiten und/oder Feststoffen zwischen den Sprühelektroden und den Niederschlagselek­ troden zu elektrischen Überschlägen kommt, die die Sprühelektroden verhältnismäß rasch zerstö­ ren. Auch bedarf es bei den bisher bekannten Elektrofiltern einer verhältnismäßig starken Dimensionierung der Niederschlagselektroden, um eine für den Betrieb ausreichende Stabilität zu gewährleisten. Gemäß der Erfindung wird demge­ genüber ein von Überschlägen zwischen der Sprühelektrode und der Niederschlagselektrode freies Elektrofilter hoher Stabilität dadurch erreicht, daß die Niederschlagselektroden (2, 13) wenigstens an den unteren Enden (5) trich­ terförmig erweitert ausgebildet und zu einer in sich geschlossenen Raumeinheit zusammengefaßt sind.
