Although it has long been recognised in commercial laundries that pressing of clothes can most effectively and quickly be performed by means of apparatus which applies heat to both sides of the fabric, this fact has not in the main been taken into account in the domestic laundry. Pressing or ironing tasks are almost always performed in a domestic situation by applying a heated flat iron to the upper surface of garments supported on an unheated platform in the form of an ironing board or table.

Claims (17)

1. Dispositif domestique de repassage comprenant une planche à repasser chauffante (11) ayant un plateau de travail sensiblement plat (12; 76, 77), un moyen de chauffage électrique (18; 86,87) pour chauffer le plateau jusqu'à une température d'utilisation pour le pressage du linge, et un moyen support de plateau (13; 81, 82) pour supporter ledit plateau de travail à l'écart du sol, caractérisé par le fait qu'un circuit électrique de commande (31, 34, 40, 42, 43, 44; 60-75) est monté sur ladite planche à repasser, un moyen de connecteur électrique (23; 48-51) étant prévu pour connecter électriquement un fer plat électriquement chauffé au circuit de commande et installé de telle façon que la commande de température du fer plat puisse être influencée en régulant l'alimentation électrique qui lui est appliquée à partir du circuit de commande électrique monté sur la planche à repasser.
2. Dispositif domestique de repassage selon la revendication 1, caractérisé par le fait qu'il est prévu un moyen (22) pour connecter ledit circuit électrique de commande (31) au chauffage électrique du plateau (18), de façon que ledit circuit électrique de commande exerce une commande simultanée indépendante du fer plat et du plateau chauffant (12) en régulant l'alimentation électrique qui leur est appliquée.
3. Dispositif domestique de repassage selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé par le fait que le circuit électrique de commande (31) comporte un régulateur d'énergie, un moyen (29, 30, 34, 38) pour connecter ledit régulateur d'énergie à une source d'énergie électrique et un moyen pour connecter sélectivement ledit régulateur d'énergie (31) audit connecteur (23) du fer plat, ou audit chauffage électrique à résistance (18) dudit plateau, ou à la fois audit moyen de connecteur du fer plat et audit moyen de chauffage électrique dudit plateau.

Dispositif domestique de repassage selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé par le fait que le fer plat comporte un capteur de température placé de manière à détecter la température d'utilisation du fer plat, le circuit électrique de commande comprenant un moyen (67) sensible à des signaux électriques formés par ledit capteur et ayant pour fonction de commander l'alimentation électrique appliquée à l'élément de chauffage du fer plat en fonction de ceux-ci.

Dispositif domestique de repassage selon la revendication 4, caractérisé par le fait qu'il est prévu un autre moyen de capteur sensible à la température dudit plateau (12), un moyen pour connecter ledit autre capteur audit circuit électrique de commande (60-75), ce dernier ayant pour fonction de réguler l'alimentation électrique appliquée audit élément chauffant (18) du plateau indépendamment de la régulation de l'alimentation dudit fer plat.

Dispositif domestique de repassage selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 5, caractérisé par le fait que le moyen électrique de chauffage (86, 87) du plateau comprend deux éléments chauffants distincts couvrant différentes surface dudit plateau (76, 77) et que ledit plateau (76, 77) est formé en deux parties sensiblement co-extensives avec lesdits deux éléments de chauffage (86, 87) respectivement, une desdites parties de plateau (77) étant pliante par rapport à ladite autre partie de plateau (76) entre une première position dans laquelle elle se situe sensiblement dans le même plan que ladite autre partie de plateau (76) et une seconde position dans laquelle elle est repliée dans une position située en dehors du plan de ladite seconde partie de plateau (76).

Dispositif domestique de repassage selon la revendication 6, caractérisé par le fait que des moyens électriques de commutation (101) sont prévus pour déconnecter l'élément (87) de ladite première partie de plateau (77) du moyen de connecteur (89) et le connecter à la source d'alimentation électrique au moment du déplacement de sa première à sa seconde position.
8. Dispositif domestique de repassage selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, comprenant en outre un plateau presseur (44; 83) pour coopérer avec le plateau chauffant (12; 76, 77) afin de former un ensemble de presse statique pour presser des vêtements tels que des pantalons, des moyens (42, 45, 47) étant prévus pour connecter le plateau presseur (44; 83) au plateau chauffant (12; 76).
9. Dispositif domestique de repassage selon la revendication 8, caractérisé par le fait que le plateau presseur (44; 83) est connecté de manière amovible au plateau.
10. Dispositif domestique de repassage selon la revendication 8 ou 9, caractérisé par le fait que le plateau presseur (44; 83) comporte un élément chau ant distinct, de façon à appliquer de la chaleur des deux côtés d'un vêtement en même temps.
11. Dispositif domestique de repassage selon l'une quelconque des revendications 8 à 10, caractérisé par le fait que lesdits moyens de connexion (42, 45, 47) comprennent des moyens mécaniques de connexion (45) supportés sur ledit plateau presseur (44) pour venir en prise avec des éléments coopérants (46) du plateau de la planche à repasser, des moyens élastiques de sollicitation (47) agissant entre ledit plateau presseur et lesdits éléments de connexion de façon à forcer ledit plateau presseur (44) en contact sous pression avec le plateau (12) de la planche à repasser quand les éléments de connexion (45) sont en prise avec lesdits éléments coopérants (46).

Dispositif domestique de repassage selon l'une quelconque des revendications 8 à 11, caractérisé par le fait que ledit moyen support de plateau est constitué d'un ensemble de pieds (81, 82) et que ledit plateau presseur (83) est équipé de moyens de prise sur ou à côté de ses bords pour venir en prise de coopération avec le moyen de montage supporté par lesdits pieds de manière que le plateau (83) puisse être supporté au-dessous du plateau (76) afin de servir d'étagère supplémentaire lorsqu'il n'est pas utilisé comme presse à vêtement.
13. Dispositif domestique de repassage selon l'une quelconque des revendications 8 à 12, caractérisé par le fait que ledit chauffage de plateau (86, 87) comporte deux éléments électriques de chauffage s'étendant sur des surfaces différentes dudit plateau (76, 77) et en ce qu'il y a d'autres moyens électriques de commutation agissant pour déconnecter l'un (77) desdits deux éléments de chauffage (76, 77) des moyens de connecteur (20, 21) pour connecter lesdits éléments à une source d'alimentation électrique au moment de l'installation dudit plateau presseur (44, 83) sur ledit plateau.

Dispositif domestique de repassage selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé par le fait que le plateau de travail (76, 77) comporte une surface supérieure dure sensiblement plane et comprend en outre un moyen de recouvrement (96) en mousse élastique pour recouvrir sa surface supérieure dure et créer une surface élastique souple se prêtant au pressage ou au repassage de vêtements au moyen d'un fer plat, et des moyens de fixation à dégagement rapide (95, 104) pour fixer ledit moyen de recouvrement en mousse élastique (96) en place sur ledit plateau d'utilisation (76, 77) tout en permettant de l'enlever facilement pour dégager ladite surface supérieure dure afin de l'utiliser comme plateau pour réchauffer la nourriture ou pour d'autres usages du chauffage.
15. Dispositif domestique de repassage selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 13, caractérisé par le fait que le plateau d'utilisation (76, 77) comporte une surface supérieure dure sensiblement plane et comprend en outre un moyen de recouvrement en mousse élastique pour constituer une surface élastique souple convenant au pressage ou au repassage de vêtements au moyen d'un fer plat, le recouvrement de mousse étant directement fixé sur la surface supérieure dure au moyen d'un adhésif résistant à la chaleur.
16. Dispositif domestique de repassage selon la revendication 14 ou 15, caractérisé par la fait que ledit moyen de recouvrement en mousse élastique (96) comporte un élément (94) fabriqué en un matériau de mousse plastique réticulée ayant un important volume de vide de façon à créer un fort isolement thermique au moyen dudit recouvrement lorsque ladite mousse (94) n'est pas comprimée tout en permettant une augmentation sensible de sa conductivité thermique utile sous compression.
