Abstract

A mechanism for opening, closing and locking doors with two leaves for cable cars, wherein the two leaves of a car door are controlled at the top and the bottom by a crank lever integral with a control piece movable horizontally in the vertical plane of symmetry of the two door leaves. Each crank lever acts on a horizontal toggle joint with dead point clearance whose links are pivotally secured respectively to levers rotating about fixed vertical axes forming the axes of rotation of the two door leaves, said levers being connected respectively to the radial arms of the door leaves by resilient connections providing locked closure of the leaves even if one of them is held slightly open.

Description

Passenger cable transport installations, in particular for ski lifts, are moving in the direction of a large increase in the number of passengers in a given time, that is to say a large increase in the throughput of transport.

In installations using cabins, the improvement in throughputs requires vehicles which must allow the rapid loading and unloading of the greatest possible number of passengers in a cabin volume as small as possible compatible with the possibilities of the installation comprising vehicles, which leads to the use of large access cabins, in particular through a door with two leaves which can open along the bodywork, either inside or outside this bodywork.

Document FR-A-2 240 133 from the same applicants has proposed a mechanism for actuating the two sliding door leaves, symmetrical with respect to a vertical plane, fitted to a cable passenger cabin. This actuating mechanism comprises a pivoting control part which actuates a practically horizontal toggle lever with crossing of neutral point, which is composed of two symmetrical rods each actuating a lever connected to one of the leaves by an articulated arm. Each lever, at its end opposite the articulated arm, can have a limited displacement in an oblong slot against the action of a return spring. Such a mechanism ensures the irreversibility of the locking of the doors in the closed position, but allows a certain cracking of the leaves under the effect of an obstacle wedged between a leaf and the fixed wall.

The present invention relates to an opening, closing and locking mechanism ensuring the irreversibility of the locking while tolerating a certain opening of the leaves under the effect of an obstacle wedged between these leaves without compromising the locking provided by the irreversibility of the control in the closed position which opposes the opening operation under the action of any parasitic force exerted on the leaves. Its essential purpose is such a mechanism, the elements of which work strictly in a horizontal plane, despite the use of the usual lever control system actuated by inclined ramps and pivoting in a vertical plane, avoiding torsional stresses and which can be used without risk of jamming in cabins carrying standing passengers (therefore with very high leaves) because it allows simultaneous actuation of the top and bottom of the door.

According to the invention, the mechanism for actuating a door with two leaves which are symmetrical to each other by reference to a vertical plane and mounted on a cable passenger cabin comprises, at one of the ends of the height of the leaves, a pivoting control lever actuating a horizontal knee lever with crossing neutral point composed of two symmetrical rods which actuate two levers connected at least to two movable arms each connected to one of the two leaves, an elastic mounting being provided between each leaf and the associated rod to allow, in the closed position, a limited movement of each leaf towards its open position and consequently the half-opening of the leaves in the closed position locked by the position of the toggle brought to- beyond its neutral point, and it is characterized in that the pivoting lever acts on the rods by means of a control part which has a horizontal movement l parallel to the vertical plane of symmetry of the two leaves, said control part being integral with a crank pin which actuates said toggle joint.

The command defined above can be at the top or bottom of the door, but one can also provide two identical commands provided respectively at the top and bottom and connected together by a vertical transmission. In addition, in the case of a single control with elastic connection, for example at the top of a door with two leaves of low height, the single control can act on a vertical transmission means capable of actuating at the bottom of the door a locking allowing limited opening.

The opening or closing movement of each leaf can be a pivoting movement in an arc around a vertical axis around which the leaf actuation lever pivots. However, according to a variant, each leaf can be secured to two arms of different lengths pivoting in a horizontal plane around different vertical axes while the control lever of this leaf is then connected by elastic connection to one of these arms.

It will be noted that the invention can be applied, by doubling the actuation mechanisms, to two opposite doors, each with two leaves. The two actuation mechanisms can then be arranged symmetrically with respect to a vertical plane of symmetry between the two doors. There are then on the same vehicle two access and exit passages through half of the vertical surfaces of the vehicle body.

  • la figure 1 est une vue en coupe par un plan vertical entre les deux vantaux d'une porte de cabine avec manette de commande en haut de la porte et mécanismes d'actionnement en haut et en bas de cette porte représentée en position de fermeture;

  • la figure 6 est une coupe analogue à celle de la figure 2 mais correspondant à la figure 5;
To clearly understand the invention, a preferred embodiment and some variants will be described below by way of example with reference to the appended schematic drawing in which:
  • Figure 1 is a sectional view through a vertical plane between the two leaves of a cabin door with control lever at the top of the door and actuation mechanisms at the top and bottom of this door shown in the closed position;

  • Figure 5 is a section similar to that of Figure 1 with a door control provided only at the top of the door but transmitting its movement at the end of closing to a locking means at the bottom of the door by means of a vertical rod transmission;
  • Figure 6 is a section similar to that of Figure 2 but corresponding to Figure 5;
  • Figure 7 is a schematic horizontal section; and
  • FIG. 8 schematically shows in plan a variant according to which each leaf, instead of pivoting in a circular arc movement around a single vertical axis, is secured to two arms of different lengths connected to the opposite vertical edges of the leaf and pivoting around different vertical axes.

In the embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 4, there is indicated at 1 the vehicle chassis with a door with two leaves 2 - 3. A control lever 4 secured to a lever 5 pivoting on the fixed horizontal axis 6 is provided, in the example shown, with a toothed sector 7 meshing with a rack 8 carried by a control piece 9 with rectilinear horizontal movement parallel to the vertical plane of symmetry passing between the two leaves. This control part carries another rack 10 with vertical teeth meshing with the teeth of a horizontal pinion 11 carried by the upper end of a vertical transmission shaft 12 which carries at its base a horizontal pinion 13 identical to the pinion 11 and meshing with the rack 14 of a lower control piece 15 identical to the upper control piece 9 and driven in a parallel movement in the same direction.

The two control parts 9 and 15 drive the two leaves 2 - 3 respectively at the top and at the bottom by identical means which will only be described below for controlling the leaves from above. A crank pin 16, integral with the control piece 9 acts on two identical rods 17 - 18 articulated with two symmetrical levers 19 - 20 in rotation around fixed vertical axes 21 - 22 integral with the chassis 1 and constituting the axes of rotation of the two leaves 2 - 3. The lever 19 is connected to the radial arms 23 - 24 secured to the leaf 2 by an elastic connection shown on a larger scale in FIG. 4 and the lever 20 is similarly connected to the radial arms 25 - 26 secured to the leaf 3. The arms 23 to 26 can bear, at their ends opposite to the fixed pivot axes 21 - 22, by means of bearings 27 - 28 on a raceway 29 secured to the chassis and thus supporting the weight of the two leaves 2 - 3. The elastic coupling shown in FIG. 4 between a lever 19 and the arms 23 - 24 consists of a rod 30 secured to the lever 19 and passing through the arm 23 in a hole with large clearance to allow a certain o scillation of the arm 23 relative to this rod 30. The oscillation is limited, in the example shown, by a nut 31 and controlled in the opposite direction by the pressure of a spring 32. This device allows, on the one hand, adjusting the positioning of the ends of the arms 23 to 26 but also a contact pressure between the two leaves in the closed position. This elastic device also makes it possible to tolerate a certain cracking of the leaves 2 - 3 under the effect of an obstacle wedged between these leaves without detracting from the locking explained below. It will be noted that the nut 31 could be replaced by a spring allowing the arms 23 to 26 to oscillate in both directions in the locked closed position.

Obtaining the locking results from the position of the links 17 - 18 which form a toggle crossing in the vicinity of the closure a neutral position corresponding to the alignment of the links so that, in the closed position, the application of parasitic forces F exerted on the leaves in the opening direction are transmitted to the rods, tending to wedge them more in the locking position. Despite this locking effect, the elastic connections between the levers 19 - 20 and the arms 23 to 26 tolerate a certain cracking of the leaves.

According to the variant shown diagrammatically in FIGS. 5 to 7, the control of the leaves is only carried out by their upper end under the action of the control piece 9 without the use of a control piece at the bottom. It will be noted that one could also use only a control of the leaves from the bottom without control from the top.

In the case of a control of the leaves by only one of the ends of their height, one can provide at the other end, in place of the opening and closing control, a locking device in the closed position. To this end, according to the exemplary embodiment of FIGS. 5 to 7, a cam 33 fixed to the control part 9 lowers in the closed position the vertical rod 34 biased upwards by a lower spring 35 acting on a lever. lock 36 which is articulated by one of its ends at the base of the rod 34. This lever 36 pivots between its ends at 37 on a horizontal fixed axis secured to the chassis while its end opposite the rod 34 has the form a T whose crosspiece ends with two hooks intended, in the lowering position of the rod 34, to retain in the locking position of the stops of the two leaves, leaving these leaves the possibility of limited opening.

According to the two embodiments shown in Figures 1 to 4 and 5 to 7, each of the two leaves of a cabin door pivots around a vertical axis in a circular arc movement in a horizontal plane. However, it would be possible, in particular in the case of doors of reduced height, to use, according to FIG. 8, two symmetrical leaves 39 - 40 whose lateral edges 41 - 42 and 43 - 44 pivot around different vertical axes on which s articulate rotation arms of different lengths. An example of such leaves is shown diagrammatically by the plan view of FIG. 8 in which the lateral edges of the two leaves 39 - 40 located one against the other in the closed position are indicated at 41 - 42 and at 43 - 44 opposite edges. The rotation arms leading to the edges 41 to 44 are indicated from 45 to 48 respectively and the axes of rotation from 49 to 52. The horizontal traces of the ends of the arms are shown in broken lines and in 41 'to 44' the positions of the edges of the leaves when these leaves have been brought into the open position, while FIG. 8 schematically shows them in the closed position.

It will be understood that the embodiments described above have no limiting character and that various variants could be envisaged without departing from the scope of the invention defined by the appended claims.
