Abstract

Anhydrous non-hygroscopic lactose powder is prepared by conveying a hydrous lactose powder, spread on a base, continuously at normal atmospheric pressure through a heating zone, preferably at a temperature of approximately 150-200°C, the retention time being approximately 0.5-5 minutes.
