Abstract

A coated paper, in particular for foodstuff purposes, has a weight per unit area of less than 50 g/m<2> and is obtainable by coating a paper substrate with aqueous emulsions of linear polydimethylsiloxanes having reactive terminal OH groups and a proportion of silicone resin, if appropriate with the additional use of tin salts as catalysts, and subsequent drying. The paper may be used for packaging and as a pan insert for fat-free frying.

Description

The invention is based on the creation of a coated paper which is particularly versatile for food or can be used as packaging paper and above all as an insert for frying and baking in pans and baking molds.

This is achieved according to the invention by a coated paper, in particular for foodstuffs, which has a weight per unit area of less than 50 g / m 2 and is obtainable by coating a paper substrate with aqueous emulsions of linear polydimethylsiloxanes with reactive terminal OH groups and a silicone resin content, optionally under Use of tin salts as catalysts, and subsequent drying.

The coated paper according to the invention preferably has a weight per unit area of 45 g / m 2 .

The invention further relates to a process for the production of the present coated paper, which is characterized in that a paper substrate with a weight per unit area of less than 50 g / m 2 is obtained with aqueous emulsions of linear polydimethylsilcxanes with reactive terminal OH groups and a silicone resin component, optionally with the use of tin salts as catalysts, coated and then dried.

In the drying process of the present method, the reactive groups condense the Dimethyldioxane with the Si li onharzen k, thus forming linear on the surface of the paper and cross-linked polysiloxanes.

The tin salts optionally used as catalysts in the present process are used in particular in a range which corresponds to the requirements prescribed by the health authority.

To produce the paper coated according to the invention, it is sufficient to apply the polysiloxane layer on one side. But it can also be applied on both sides.

Only components that produce a food-safe coating are used for the coating.

The coated paper, when used as an insert for frying in pans instead of fat or oil, is characterized by the fact that, compared to the temperatures usual when using fat or oil, a temperature of up to 50% is lower and thus considerable energy savings can be achieved , in addition, the taste of the food to be fried is not affected in any way. Thus, the paper coated or impregnated according to the invention can be used as packaging paper for meat, it being possible for the packaging paper to be placed in a pan for frying the meat, without additionally using fat or oil. If necessary, the packaging paper is placed in an ungreased pan after cutting, after which the roasting process can take place.

During paper production, the fibrous materials are painted greasily, so that there is a high fat density combined with high strength of the paper. This results in very favorable properties when used as an insert in frying pans.

The coated or soaked paper adheres neither to the pan nor to the food to be roasted and avoids frying without fat a calorie enrichment of the fried food through fat intake.
