Description

The invention relates to a contact arrangement for a vacuum switch with two axially oppositely arranged and relatively movable contact pieces, each contact piece is designed as a pot contact piece, the wall of which is provided with obliquely inclined slots, and each oblique slot with a further slot in a base plate and is each connected to an additional slot in a contact disk lying on the wall in a cover-like manner, and the oblique slot also runs in one plane together with the associated further slot in the base plate.

In such a contact arrangement known from DE-A-32 27 482, inclined oblique slots are milled in the walls of the two contact pieces in each case, which extend into the base plate of the respective contact piece and as further slots in the base plate from the outer edge thereof to a circular area in the middle. In this way, the slots subdivide the respective base plate into line segments which extend from the outer edge of the base plate largely in the radial direction to the center thereof. The contact disk, which rests on the wall of the respective contact piece in a lid-like manner, is also divided into line segments by essentially radially extending slots, the course of the additional slots only deviating slightly from the radial direction in the edge region of the contact disk connected to the wall of the contact piece, so that the additional slots in the contact disc continuously merge into the assigned oblique slots in the wall. The current flowing through the contact pieces therefore flows through the line segments of the base plate and the contact disk of the respective contact piece almost in the radial direction towards and away from the wall of the contact piece. In the walls of the contact pieces, the current is deflected due to the oblique slots in such a way that it receives a current component flowing in the circumferential direction of the contact pieces. This current component generates a magnetic field which is in phase with the current and passes through both contact pieces in the axial direction. When the contact pieces are separated, the axial magnetic field causes the arc that arises between the contact pieces to be diffuse, which means that the contact disks burn up less. Since the angle of inclination of the oblique slots in the walls of the contact pieces is limited by their external dimensions, the axial magnetic field generated in the known contact arrangement is relatively weak, so that the arc can contract when large currents are switched off, which results in increased erosion of the contact disks .

The invention is based on the object of specifying a contact arrangement for a vacuum switch, the contact pieces of which are provided with slots which are not only very easy to produce, but also, by their formation in the contact pieces, enable generation of particularly strong magnetic fields.

To solve this problem, each additional slot in the contact disk according to the invention runs in each case in a straight line in the plane in which the respectively assigned oblique slot in the wall and further slot in the base plate runs, with the respective additional Slot in the contact disk and the associated further slot in the base plate each run on different sides of a radially oriented plane parallel to these slots.

The advantage of the contact arrangement according to the invention is that both the base plate and the contact disk of the respective contact piece are divided into such line elements by the further and additional slots formed in them that a current flowing through them receives a current component in the circumferential direction of the contact piece. This current component causes an intensification of the magnetic field generated by the current in the wall of the contact piece, as a result of which an improved quenching of the resulting arc is achieved when the contact pieces are separated. Here, the current component flowing in the base plate and the contact disk of the respective contact piece in the circumferential direction and the magnetic field generated by it are greater, the greater the distance at which the further and additional slots, which are connected to each other via an oblique slot, in the Base plate or the contact disk on different sides of the radially aligned plane run parallel to this. Another function of the further and additional slots in the base plate and the contact disk is that they contribute to the reduction of eddy currents in the respective contact piece.

In an advantageous method for producing the contact arrangement according to the invention, the respective contact disk is fastened to the wall in each contact piece in a first method step; In a second process step, the oblique slots in the wall and the further and additional slots in the base plate and the contact disk that are connected to them are worked into the respective contact piece. In this way, the contact pieces of the contact arrangement according to the invention are particularly simple and Produce inexpensively by sawing the oblique slots in the wall and the additional and additional slots in the base plate and the contact disk connected to them into the contact piece in question. Another advantage of this manufacturing process is that, as a result of the manufacture of the slots after the contact disks have been attached to the walls of the contact pieces, the oblique slots in the wall of each contact piece pass into the slots of the contact disk which are connected to them without formation of shoulders; such an exact transition, on the other hand, cannot be achieved if the wall and the contact disk of the respective contact piece are split separately.

To explain the contact arrangement according to the invention and its manufacturing method, one of the two contact pieces is shown in the view from below, in side view and top view.

The contact piece shown of the contact arrangement according to the invention is designed as a so-called pot contact piece, which has a pot-shaped contact carrier 1 with a base plate 2 and a hollow cylindrical wall 3. In order to be able to represent this better, a portion of the contact piece shown in the side view has broken out in the figure. On the end face of the wall 3 there is a contact disk 4 fastened to it in the manner of a lid, which is designed as a circular disk with a bevelled outer edge and a raised contact surface in its center. The contact disk 4 preferably consists of a chrome-copper composite material. Between the contact plate 4 and the base plate 2, a non-conductive, non-illustrated spacer made of preferably ferromagnetic material with a small remanence is arranged in the interior of the contact piece. The contact piece is connected in the region of the center of the base plate 2 to a support element 5 in the form of a support bolt. The wall 3 of the contact piece is provided in the circumferential direction at regular intervals with oblique slots 6, each inclined to the contact plate 4. The base plate 2 and the contact plate 4 are each provided with an equal number of further slots 7 or additional slots 8, each of which extends from the outer edge to a circular area in the center of the base plate 2 or the contact plate 4 in such a straight line that each oblique slot 6 in the wall 3 is each connected to one of the further and additional slots 7 and 8 in the base plate 2 and the contact plate 4 and runs with them in one plane; the additional slot 8 in the contact disk 4 and the associated further slot 7 in the base plate 2 are each formed on different sides of a radially oriented plane 9 parallel to these slots 7 and 8. In the contact arrangement according to the invention, the oblique slots 6 in the wall 3 and the further and additional slots 7 and 8 in the base plate 2 and the contact disk 4 connected to them are each formed by saw cuts inserted laterally into the respective contact piece.

The arrows 10 indicate the current flow through the contact piece. The current supplied to the contact piece via the support element 5 enters the base plate 2 of the contact piece and flows therein from the inside to the outside to the wall 3. In the wall 3, the current flows in the direction of the edge region of the contact disk 4, in which the current collected and fed to the raised surface in the middle of the contact plate 4, where the current exits the contact piece. The arrangement of the slots 7, 6 and 8 in the base plate 2, the wall 3 and the contact disk 4 deflects the current flowing through the contact piece in such a way that it receives a current component 11 flowing in the circumferential direction to the contact piece, which component penetrates the contact piece Magnetic field 12 generated.

In the contact arrangement according to the invention, the contact piece shown is arranged axially opposite another contact piece, not shown, which, with the assumption that the contact piece shown is fixed, is constructed in the same way as the fixed contact piece, except for its mobility in the axial direction. The current passing from the fixed contact piece to the opposite movable contact piece, not shown, generates a magnetic field in the latter, which is rectified to the magnetic field emanating from the fixed contact piece and which generates an axially aligned magnetic field between the two contact pieces.
