Abstract

An electrical radiator, particularly for fan-forced heaters, is provided which includes a resistance heating element disposed on an insulating element connected to the housing of the fan-forced heater. The coil winding of the resistance heating element is secured to the insulating element by means of clamping elements and is freely extending therefrom. A bimetallic switch in series with the resistance heating element serves as a heat protective switch and is disposed on a connector bar connected to the insulating element and carrying the electrical connectors for the coil winding. One end of the coil winding is secured on one side of the bar to a first bracket remote from the insulating element and which is rigid with the bar and connected to a first connector. The other end of the coil winding is secured to a second bracket disposed on the other side of the bar near the insulating element and which is rigid with the bar. The bimetallic switch is disposed on a side of the connector bar which faces that end of the coil winding which is, on one hand, connected to the insulating element and, on the other hand, is secured to the first bracket remote from the insulating element, so as to obtain exactly defined protective circuits.

Description

The invention relates to an electric heating register for a fan heater, with a resistance heater arranged on an insulator that can be connected to the fan heater housing, with freely protruding winding loops fixed to the insulator by means of a clamp body, and with a bimetal switch that is connected in series with the resistor heater as a heat protection switch Insulating body connected, the terminal supporting web is arranged and in which the one end of the winding loops at a bend-fixed bend connected to the one terminal, removed from the insulating body and the other end of the winding loops arranged on an on the other side of the web closer to the insulating body the other connection connected web-fixed bend are fixed.

In a known heating register of this type (DE-A1-2 944132), the bimetal switch is formed on the side of the web which faces the end of the winding loops which is connected to the bend which is approximated to the insulating body. The winding loop, which is freely spaced over its essential radial expansion, executes bending movements under the influence of thermal or mechanical influences, which result in uncontrolled approaches or distances between the winding loop and the bimetallic body, which give rise to an indefinite response of the bimetal switch and inaccurate protective circuits.

It is an object of the invention to provide measures for a reliable response of the bimetal strip at a predetermined temperature.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the bimetallic switch is arranged on the side of the web which is adjacent to the end of the winding loops connected to the radially outer bend. As a result, the bimetallic strip is assigned to the winding loop held with the two radial ends at a constant distance from the web, whereby a reliable response of the bimetallic strip can be achieved at a defined temperature even if the winding loop projecting on the other side of the web is more or less attached to the Approaching footbridge.

In an embodiment of the heating register, it is provided that the web has a recess and that the bimetal switch is arranged on the web and extends over the recess. The recess can serve in a known manner to accommodate a heating resistor assigned in parallel to the bimetal switch.

The invention is illustrated in the drawing using an exemplary embodiment. It means:
  • Figure 1 shows a section of a heating register and
  • Figure 2 shows a section of a heating register of known design according to DE-A1-2 944132.

In the figures, 1 denotes an annular insulating body which can be fixed by means of a hub 2 to a fan heater housing (not shown in more detail). A resistance heater 3, which has winding loops 4, is arranged on the insulating body 1. The winding loops 4 are held on the insulating body 1 by hollow rivets 5 and are freely projecting with the other part. 6 with a web connected to the insulating body 1 is designated, which carries connections 7 and 8 for the resistance heating. With the connection 7, a bend 9 is firmly connected, to which the one end 4 'of the resistance heater 3 is fixed, as a result of which this end 4' is held on the web 6 both in the region of the insulating body 1 and via the bend 9. The end 4 ″ of the resistance heater 3 is fixed to a further bend 9 ′ which is connected via an electrical conductor 10 to a bimetal switch 11 serving as a heat protection switch. The bimetal switch 11 extends over a recess 15 on the side of the end 4 ′ facing the end Web 6. The bimetal switch 11 is connected to the connection 8 via a conductor 12. A low-power electric heating element 13 is connected in a manner known per se parallel to the bimetal switch 11. The web 6 is for connection to the insulating body 1 in a bushing fixed to the insulating body 16 inserted and fixed by means of the retaining pin 14 engaging under the socket 16.

Die Figur 1 zeigt, daß infolge der Festlegung des Endes 4' der Widerstandsheizung 3 ein konstanter Abstand der Widerstandsheizung 3 zum Bimetallschalter gewährleistet und beibehalten wird und daß durch diesen konstanten Abstand ein exakt definiertes Arbeiten des Bimetallschalters 11 sichergestellt ist.FIG. 1 shows that as a result of the definition of the end 4 'of the resistance heater 3, a constant distance between the resistance heater 3 and the bimetal switch is ensured and maintained, and that a precisely defined operation of the bimetal switch 11 is ensured by this constant distance.

Hierdurch sind Schutzschaltungen bei undefinierten Temperaturen erzielbar und ein sicherer Schutz des Heizlüfters ausgeschlossen.FIG. 2 shows a resistance heater 3 of the heating register known from DE-A1-2 944132. With the same structure in this heating register, the bimetallic switch 11 is arranged on the other side of the web 6 and is accordingly assigned to the freely protruding end 4 "of the heating register. As a result, the end 4" cannot be influenced if the winding loops 4 are thermally or mechanically influenced optionally a more or less approximate position, e.g. B. at a distance "a" or a more distant position, for. B. at a distance "b" to the bimetallic switch and that the resulting different distances between the end 4 "and the bimetallic switch 11 inadvertently trigger an earlier or later response of the bimetallic switch 11. This enables protective circuits to be achieved at undefined temperatures and prevents the fan heater from being safely protected .
