Description

The invention relates to a process for the continuous drying and shrinking of textile fabrics, in particular textile knitted goods, in which the goods to be treated are placed in a moist and loose state on a conveyor belt and then subjected to drying, and a device for carrying out the process according to the invention.

Various methods for drying and shrinking textile fabrics are already known, but all of them have the disadvantage that the degree of shrinkage that can be achieved is likely to be even higher than is possible with these methods.

The object of the present invention is to create a method by means of which a stronger and more uniform shrinkage than before can be achieved.

This object is achieved according to the invention in a method of the type mentioned at the outset by treating the tissue to be treated after passing through a first drying station in a relaxed state with saturated steam and at the same time causing it to vibrate mechanically, and then drying the fabric treated in this way to the desired final value by means of a second drying station.

To improve drying and shrinkage, it is advisable to place the tissue to be treated in wave form on the conveyor belt.

It is advantageous if, after passing through the first drying unit, the tissue to be treated is exposed to saturated steam, preferably at a temperature of approximately 104 ° C., during the vibration process.

To achieve optimal shrinkage, it is expedient if the material to be treated is vibrated at a frequency of 20 to 150 Hz, preferably of about 50 Hz.

It is also advantageous if vibrations with an amplitude of 2 to 15 mm, preferably of about 7 mm, are used.

The invention further relates to a device for carrying out the method according to the invention, which is characterized in that between at least two drying stations at least one vibration and steaming station which can be vibrated to treat the tissue to be treated and to convey the tissue to be treated has an air-permeable, continuous passage Continuous endless conveyor belt is provided.

It is useful if in the vibration and vaporization a vibration table supporting a part of the upper run of the conveyor belt is provided in this treatment area, the vibration frequency of which is perpendicular to the conveyor belt plane, preferably in the range of 30 to 80 Hz. It is advantageous if the upward support surface of the vibration table is perforated for the passage of saturated steam upwards into the tissue to be treated and is preferably corrugated in the direction of passage of the latter.

To better guide the tissue to be treated on its treatment path, it is expedient if an upper second, air-permeable, continuously rotating conveyor belt is used to form a transport channel which is bounded in the vertical direction at the top and bottom and serves to receive and support the tissue to be treated vertically is assigned, and that both conveyor belts are driven at the same peripheral speed.

It has proven to be advantageous if the device according to the invention for the wave-shaped delivery of the tissue to be treated on the lower conveyor belt is provided at the delivery point with a preferably heated conveyor roller, the conveying speed of which is greater than the rotational speed of the lower conveyor belt, and this conveyor roller at its delivery point interacts with a stationary fabric ski jump located above the support surface of the lower conveyor belt. It is expedient if the ski jump is shoe-shaped and preferably heated.

For special applications, it can be advantageous if three drying stations and between two drying a vibration and vaporization station are provided.

The invention is explained below with reference to the drawing, for example. It shows
  • Fig.l shows a longitudinal section through an example embodiment of an inventive device, and
  • 2 shows a longitudinal section of a second exemplary embodiment of a ski jump that can be used for a device as shown in FIG. 1 for the wave-shaped delivery of the tissue to be treated onto the lower conveyor belt.

As can be seen from FIG. 1, the device shown, between two drying stations 1 and 2 designed in a known manner, has a vibration and vaporization station 4 which can be set into vertical vibrations for the tissue 3 to be treated.

For conveying the tissue 3 to be treated through all stations 1, 2 and 4, a first air conveyor, which is permeable to air and steam, and continuously circulating, endless bottom conveyor belt 5 is provided. In order to form a transport channel 6 which is limited in the vertical direction at the top and bottom and serves to receive and support the tissue 3 to be treated 3, the lower first transport belt 5 is assigned an upper second, likewise air and vapor permeable, continuously rotating transport belt 7. Both conveyor belts 5 and 7 are driven at the same peripheral speed.

Both drying stations 1 and 2 are in a known manner with laterally spaced heating nozzles 8 and 9 directed towards the transport channel 6, which extend transversely to the transport direction of the fabric 3 over the entire width of the two conveyor belts 5 and 7, respectively. To improve the drying effect, the upper heating nozzles 9 are offset in relation to the lower heating nozzles 8, as seen in the transport direction of the fabric 3. For optimum adjustment of the drying performance of the fabric to be dried, the distance of the upper and lower H eizdüsen 8 and 9, respectively adjustable relative to the tissue to be dried. 3 The vibrations of the fabric generated by the hot air flows directed at the fabric to be dried accelerate the drying process.

In the vibration and vaporization station 4, a part of the upper run of the lower conveyor belt 5 is provided in this treatment area, preferably a hydraulically or pneumatically driven vibration table 10, the vibration frequency of which is approximately 30 to 80 Hz in the vertical direction, with an amplitude in the range of approximately Is 2 to 15 mm.

The upward, in the direction of passage to be - curled acting fabric 3 formed bearing surface 11 of the vibration table 10 is for passing through the feed pipes 12, 13 with a temperature of about 104 ° C in the interior of the vibrating table 10 eingeleitetem saturated steam upwards into the tissue to be treated 3 punched ausgebil - det.

For the wave-shaped delivery of the tissue to be treated 3, for example jersey, on the support surface of the lower conveyor belt 5, a heated conveyor roller 15 is provided at the delivery point 14, the conveying speed of which is greater than the rotational speed of the lower conveyor belt 5. At its delivery point, this conveyor roller 15 interacts with a stationary fabric ski jump 16 which is arranged above the fabric support surface of the lower conveyor belt 5.

The hot air escaping via the heating nozzles 8 and 9 is drawn in by the fans 19 after the action on the tissue 3 to be treated via the air filters 17 and the heat exchangers 18 and fed again heated to the heating nozzles 8 and 9.

Due to the extraordinarily strong vibration of the tissue to be treated in the vibration and vapor deposition station 4, a much increased and more uniform shrinkage is achieved compared to the previously usual methods with less energy expenditure.

This device is also very well suited for the treatment of tubular knitted fabrics.

In this embodiment, the jumping hill 20 cooperating with the heated conveyor roller 15 is shoe-shaped, so that the tissue to be delivered with advance to the lower conveyor belt 5 engages with the latter over a larger part of the circumference of the conveyor roller 15.
