Definitions

  • the invention relates to highly alkaline storage stable oven and grill cleaning agents in the form of sprayable viscous aqueous solutions.
  • the invention also relates to a method for producing these agents.
  • Strongly alkaline cleaning agents containing caustic alkali are usually used to clean heavily soiled ovens, grills, grates, deep fryers, tilting frying pans in the household and in catering, which are contaminated with firmly dried or burnt-on food residues. It is desirable to thicken such cleaning agents so that they adhere to vertical surfaces sufficiently long to effectively soften or dissolve the dirt so that it can be removed without effort by simply wiping the surface.
  • DE-B 1 924 332 discloses oven and grill cleaning agents in the form of viscous aqueous solutions or pastes based on caustic alkalis, surfactants and water-miscible organic solvents and solubilizers which contain acrylic acid and / or methacrylic acid copolymers as alkali-soluble thickeners .
  • These cleaning agents are stable in storage, so they retain their viscosity and are characterized by their high cleaning effectiveness. However, they can only be sprayed onto bottles to be cleaned discontinuously from bottles with a relatively large opening. They are preferably applied with the help of brushes, sponges, rags, brushes or similar aids. However, this type of application is too labor-intensive when cleaning larger areas.
  • the object of the present invention was therefore to find a cleaning agent which is at least as effective, but which can be sprayed onto the surfaces to be cleaned more easily and practically continuously by means of manually operated pumps, and nevertheless, due to its viscosity, also for a sufficiently long time for the cleaning action vertical surfaces.
  • alkaline cleaning agents containing surfactants, solvents and solubilizers can also be applied to the surfaces to be cleaned in the form of aerosol foam which adheres for a long time.
  • fuels and spray cans the use of which, as is well known, does not receive undivided approval.
  • aqueous, strongly alkaline solutions made from alkalis, nonionic surfactants, solvents containing hydroxyl groups and water can be thickened permanently without using organic polymers, and yet can be sprayed excellently by hand pumps if free alkylbenzenesulfonic acids are added to them and from them with excess added Alkali forms the known anionic surfactants in situ.
  • the agents can also contain additions of a finely divided mineral solid and, if appropriate, colorants and fragrances and corrosion inhibitors. They also retain their viscosity after long storage.
  • the invention further relates to a process for the preparation of storage-stable, viscous aqueous oven and grill cleaning agents based on alkalis, surfactants and water-miscible organic solvents, which is characterized in that the aqueous solution of a free C 8 -C 18 -alkylbenzenesulfonic acid is passed through at room temperature Addition of an aqueous solution of an alkali is initially neutralized with stirring and then further alkali, nonionic surfactants and water-miscible organic solvents and, if appropriate, customary auxiliaries are also added at room temperature with stirring.
  • finely divided mineral solids are also added. These solids are first dispersed in part of the water content of the agents. The free alkylbenzenesulfonic acid is then added with stirring and the procedure is as described above.
  • the grill cleaning agents according to the invention are not real solutions, but are slightly cloudy or opaque, but viscous liquids which remain homogeneous.
  • the solid-containing variants are homogeneous suspensions, which either do not separate at all or only so weakly after long storage that they are homogenized again by shaking gently before use.
  • the claimed agents are applied by spraying in commercially available hand pumps onto the dirty, warm or already cooled inner surfaces of the ovens and the like. After an exposure time of about 10 to 60 minutes, the soiling can be easily rinsed off with water, to which small amounts of acetic acid are expediently added to neutralize the cleaning agent.
  • the claimed cleaning agents are produced by simple mixing at room temperature.
  • the free alkylbenzenesulfonic acid is placed in aqueous solution and first neutralized by adding the required amounts of a 30-50% solution of the desired caustic alkali or caustic alkali and amine, the addition and stirring mechanism being designed so that no lumps are formed through neutralization. Then you give the excess proportion of caustic alkali or caustic alkali and amine solution like the rest of the recipe ingredients, stir in succession. If, in the particular embodiment, a mineral solid is added, it is first dispersed in water, then the alkylbenzenesulfonic acid is added with stirring and the procedure is as described above.
  • a grill and oven cleaner is prepared as described above by mixing the following components at room temperature
  • the product has a viscosity of 670 mPa.s. After 3 months of storage at room temperature, the product was still completely homogeneous and the viscosity unchanged.
  • the product could be sprayed using a commercially available hand pump and cleaned greasy and mixed soiling on vertical surfaces better than a commercially available, low-viscosity grill cleaning agent with the same potassium hydroxide content.
  • a grill cleaner was made from the following components:
  • the product had a permanent viscosity of 430 mPa.s, could be sprayed and showed a very good cleaning effect on vertical surfaces.
  • the product has a permanent viscosity of 800 mPa.s, shows an excellent cleaning effect, can be sprayed and has a shelf life of more than one year.
  • a grill cleaner was made from the following components:
  • the product has a viscosity of 750 mPa.s, a very good cleaning effect even on vertical surfaces and can be sprayed with hand pumps just as well after 3 months of storage as immediately after production.
