Claims (10)

1. A process for the manufacture of pyrotechnic charges from plates of powder having a thickness which is substantially constant, according to which process a viscous composition of a material which is an inhibitor of combustion is prepared for deposition on the plates, characterised in that:
- said composition is prepared from a constituent selected from the group represented by organic resins which are moisture-polymerisable, and by silk-screening inks having a polyester base, to which is added at least one propellant stabilizer;
- a silk-screening screen is positioned on one of the faces of the powder plate, said screen having a series of apertures regularly distributed thereon;
- the viscous combustion inhibiting composition is applied to the screen and is spread thereon; after which,
- the screen is withdrawn so as to allow polymerisation of the combustion inhibiting composition disposed on the powder plate.
2. A process according to claim 1. characterised in that the powder plate used is composed of a homogenous powder and is preferably composed of a double base propellant.
3. A process according to any one of claims 1 or 2, characterised in that the powder plate used has a thickness which is less than 2.5 mm.
4. A process according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the combustion inhibiting composition has a viscosity greater than 500 pascal seconds and preferably a viscosity between 1000 and 2000 Pa.S.
5. A process according to claim 1, characterised in that the organic resin is composed of molecules the chains of which terminate in isocyanate groups.
6. A process according to any one of claims 1 or 5, characterised in that the resin is selected from polyurethane resins having polybutadiene or polyether chains, and silicone resins.
7. A process according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the silk-screening screen has a thickness less than 0.2 mm.
8. A process according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the silk-screening screen includes a large number of apertures having a geometric form and which are disposed parallel to each other.
9. A process according to any one of claims 5 or 6, characterised in that the application of the viscous combustion inhibiting composition and the spreading of said composition are carried out in a dry atmosphere.
10. A process according to any one of claims 5 or 6, characterised in that after the withdrawal of the silk-screening screen, the powder plate which is partially covered with the combustion inhibitor is placed in a moist atmosphere.
