Definitions

  • the invention relates to a profile track with the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a profile track is used for drive devices in which a towing member driven to and fro by a drive motor unit is guided along the track, in particular in the form of an endless chain, to the one strand of which a slide part guided along the track is coupled.
  • the slide part is connected to the door leaf, for example the leaf of an overhead door, and must be able to be moved over a correspondingly large distance in accordance with the height of the door leaf. Appropriate displacement paths and therefore long running tracks are required for tall gates.
  • a known profile track - AU-B-507794 - for wall panels is designed in its lower part as a hollow profile section, in which a guide formation of a slide part engages.
  • the hollow profile section of the profile rail is thus provided with a slot running in the longitudinal direction thereof, which is penetrated by connecting bolts between the guide formation or the slide part and the panel and which therefore necessarily extends over the displacement distance of the slide part.
  • the hollow profile section is thus not optimally designed against deflections and, above all, against twisting about its longitudinal axis.
  • a further known garage door drive - US-A-3289350 - has a travel rail along which a carriage articulated on the door leaf can be moved, which by means of a drive motor and pinion arranged on it engages in a gear rack extending along the travel rail.
  • the running rail has a hollow profile which is closed except for access openings in the upper wall area.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a profile rail with on this longitudinally guided slide part of the type mentioned, which is as stiff as possible, taking into account the requirement for good manageability, light weight and low space requirement, and above all a corresponding smooth-running longitudinal displacement guide ensures for the sled part.
  • a self-contained hollow profile has the advantage of particularly high moments of resistance against bending and, above all, against rotation about the longitudinal axis of the profile. According to the invention, this is used to withstand the loads that are particularly dimensionally stable, as a profile section in the area of the longitudinal displacement guide for the slide part, so that the guide surfaces of the running rail are practically not subject to any curvature caused by bending or twisting.
  • Such precise guidance not only has the advantage of a low-wear and energy-saving mode of operation, it also enables a more sensitive emergency shutdown in the event that there is an obstacle to the movement of the door leaf and the drive motor is switched off by monitoring the transmitted torque.
  • guideways extending in the longitudinal direction of the profile are provided on the outer wall of the hollow profile section, which further increase the dimensional stability of the hollow profile section and which engage in sliders which are provided on the slide part in the area of the guide formation.
  • the sliders can consist of a plastic that is particularly slidable with respect to the running rail material and can be arranged such that the sliding engagement between the slide part and the running rail is limited exclusively to the contact surfaces between the sliders and the guideways.
  • guideways are preferably provided in such a way that movements transverse to the guiding direction are absorbed in the horizontal plane as well as in the vertical plane.
  • at least one guideway can be provided in the bottom region of the hollow profile section and at least one further guideway in the side regions thereof.
  • a particularly dimensionally stable and technically favorable design is obtained if the guideways pass through the hollow profile cut integrally molded projections are formed.
  • the arrangement of the guideways on the outer wall of the hollow profile section results in the possibility of forming the surrounding wall, as seen transversely to the longitudinal direction of the profile, without a gap or the like, which benefits the dimensional stability.
  • a drag link for example a chain
  • acting on the slide part is guided continuously or in sections over the length of the running rail
  • the sides of the upper profile flange facing the lower flange can then have fastening designs which serve to hold the drag link, for example via interposed chain guide parts made of a plastic that is slidable relative to the chain material.
  • the drawing shows a cross section through the track profile and a side view of the slide part of the exemplary embodiment located in the guide position.
  • the overall profile rail designated 1 has an I-shaped profile, such that an upper profile flange 3 held approximately in the same wall thickness and an overall lower profile flange 4 are formed on a web 2 that runs vertically in the position of use.
  • the lower profile flange comprises a hollow profile section 5 with a cavity 6 which, seen transversely to the longitudinal direction of the profile, is surrounded by a self-contained wall.
  • Such a closed hollow profile has a particularly high polar section modulus.
  • protrusions protruding laterally and downward are formed, which limit guideways running in the longitudinal direction of the profile rail.
  • projections 8 are initially provided on the outer wall 7 of the hollow profile section, one of which is laterally projecting on the left side and one on the right side of the profile section.
  • a downwardly projecting projection 9 is formed in the bottom area at the point opposite the molding point of the web 2.
  • An angular projection is formed in each of the transition areas between the bottom area and the side areas, each of which consists of a foot part 11 projecting downwards and a laterally projecting end part 12 adjoining it at right angles.
  • the arrangement is such that a U-shaped, open to the side guideway 13 is formed on each side between the projection 8 and the end part 12 of the associated angular projection 10, while in the bottom region between the middle projection 9 and the foot parts 11 and 12 of the two angular projections 10, two downwardly open, U-shaped guideways 14 are defined.
  • fastening designs 15 are formed on both sides of the web, which have a T-shaped cross section and extend in the longitudinal direction of the profile running rail. Below these fastening designs 15 run the two strands of a link chain 16 serving as a drag link, which, in a manner not shown, runs in an endless manner around two sprockets, one of which is arranged at one end of the profile running rail and connected as a drive pinion to the drive motor unit (not shown) is while the other sprocket connects to the other end of the profile rail and is freely rotating and serves as a reversing sprocket for the chain 16.
  • 1 chain guide parts 17 are held on the fastening formations 15 of the profile running rail, which have cavities, not shown, in which the upwardly facing hinge links of the chain are mounted so as to be longitudinally movable.
  • the chain guide parts 17 consist of a plastic which has good sliding properties with respect to the material of the chain 16.
  • the chain guide parts 17 can be formed over the strand length of the chain, but they can also be limited to short chain length sections and can be provided in larger sections in succession in several parts, between which the sections of the chain center in question are held freely suspended.
  • the chain guide parts 17 can be fastened to the fastening formations 15 in various ways, for example by dividing them in a vertical plane extending in the longitudinal direction of the profile and screwing them together by means of corresponding connecting screws pressed against the formations 15.
  • the entire lower profile flange 4 passes through a guide formation 18, which is designed in the form of a cavity within the slide part 19, which forms the lower profile flange 4 in the form of the hollow profile section 5 with the guide tracks 13 and 14 provided on its outer wall 7, except for a slot area which extends from the Web 2 of the profile rail 1 is reached, includes.
  • the Sliders are made of a plastic that has good sliding properties compared to the aluminum alloy from which the profile rail is made.
  • the slide part 19 has a certain extent in the longitudinal direction of the profile rail 1, over which the sliding pieces 20 extend per guideway 13 or 14 or are arranged in the form of a plurality of individual pieces arranged one behind the other and evenly spaced behind one another. In any case, this ensures that the sliders 20 engaging in the guide tracks 14 in the floor area prevent the slide part 19 from tilting transversely to the longitudinal direction of the profile running rail 1 in the horizontal plane. Similarly, the engagement of the corresponding slide pieces 20 in the lateral guideways 13 prevents the slide part from being able to be pivoted in a vertical plane, approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the profile running rail 1.
  • an articulated lever connection 22 is indicated, via which the slide part 19 is connected to a door leaf (not shown) that can be opened and closed.
  • a coupling piece, designated overall by 23 is held, which engages in a driver piece 24, which in turn is firmly connected to the chain 16.
  • the driver part 24 is accordingly entrained by the chain 16 moved via the drive motor, in the coupling state this movement is transmitted via the coupling piece 23 to the slide part 19, which transmits the corresponding longitudinal displacement movement to the door leaf.
