Description

The invention relates to an indicator light, which consists of a small light bulb with power leads led out at its glass pinch foot end and a plastic base, on which a flange and lugs are formed, for bayonet-like installation of the base in electrical devices. The base has a recess in the upper part for receiving the lamp and two base contacts, to which the power supply lines are welded and which allow the indicator light to be electrically contacted.

There are currently many variations of such indicator lights. on the market and are used in many areas. In some embodiments, the lamp is held in a fixed position in the base body by holding or latching elements on the ends of the base contacts lying in the base body and in other embodiments by guide and latching elements molded into the base body. In one case as in the other, the power supply lines can be connected to the base contacts both by means of clamps and by means of welding.

Common to all of the embodiments is the fact that the base contacts are arranged in grooves parallel to the longitudinal axis of the base and their contacting ends are bent accordingly.

When contacting the lamp in the base by means of clamps, it is possible that the connection point between the power supply lines and base contacts is loosened, for example by vibration or other influences, and the reliability of the indicator light is therefore insufficient in its functioning. An improvement in the contacting has been achieved by welding, although this work step usually takes place before the lamp is inserted and the welding points can be loosened when the lamp is inserted.

According to US-A-3 950 061, a holder for receiving small lamps with a glass base is also known, in which the lamp is held by contact springs and ribs arranged in the receiving opening.

The invention has for its object to provide an indicator light with which the manufacturing costs can be significantly reduced, but in which nevertheless the contact between the power supply lines and the base contacts is reliably ensured during operation of the indicator light.

A reduction in manufacturing costs can be achieved by saving material, shortening the manufacturing time and reducing the amount of scrap in manufacturing.

The stated object is achieved by means of the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

Further details emerge from the dependent claims.

An embodiment is shown in drawings and is described in more detail below. Show it:
  • FIG. 1 shows a partially sectioned side view of the base of the indicator lamp without lamp and without base contacts,
  • 1b shows a top view of the base according to FIG. 1a,
  • Figure 2a is a partially sectioned side view of the indicator light and
  • Figure 2b is a plan view of the indicator light of Figure 2a.

The base 1 of an indicator light shown in the figures consists of a cylindrical part 2 which is partially surrounded by a flange 3 at its lower end. When the indicator light is installed, this flange 3 abuts, for example, below a printed circuit board, with two mutually opposite lugs 4 serving as counter-support, which are molded onto the cylindrical part 2 of the base 1 somewhat above the flange 3. Below the flange 3, a handle 5 is formed on the cylindrical part 2, which facilitates the insertion and replacement of the indicator light.

A recess 6 is provided within the cylindrical part 2 of the base 1, which is divided into three different sections. Seen from above, the first section of the recess 6 is cylindrical and has on its circumference four elastic webs 7 which run parallel to the longitudinal axis x of the base and which ensure correct centering and firm seating of the lamp 8.

Als Tiefenanschlag dient die Quetschkante der Lampe 8 und die Oberkante 10 des zweiten Abschnitts der Aussparung 6.The cross section of the second section of the recess 6 is largely matched to the glass pinch base 9 of the lamp, so that it is held in the second section of the recess 6 so that it cannot rotate. The pinch edge of the lamp 8 and the upper edge 10 of the second section of the recess 6 serve as the depth stop.

The third section of the recess 6 consists of two bevels 11, along which the current leads 12 slide when the lamp 8 is inserted and are thus guided to their predetermined location.

The base contacts 13 of the indicator light are very small, simple and inexpensive to produce tongues 14, the assembly of which can be mechanized in a simple manner. The tongues 14 are inserted into two mutually opposite slots 15 in the region of the flange 3, with tabs 16 bent out of the tongues 14 latching into second cutouts 17 in the base 1, thus ensuring a firm fit. The base contacts 13 can also be fastened in the slots 15 by means of a rivet rivet attached to the base contacts 13 (not shown). The ends of the power leads 12 of the lamp 8 are guided through an opening 18 in the tongues 14, bent over and welded to the base contacts 13. Welding offers the opposite of a clamp connection Advantage that there can be no contact corrosion.

The ends 19 of the base contacts 13 lying outside the base 1 are bent somewhat upwards, as a result of which the base contacts 13 are resilient on the underside of a printed circuit board or the like. issue. An embossed elevation 20 at the ends 19 ensures good contacting of the indicator light with the conductor tracks of the printed circuit board.
