Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a liquid distributor device for multi-tubular falling film heat exchangers and an exchanger provided with said device.
A multitubular heat exchanger consists, by definition, of a bundle of parallel tubes and a casing. Two fluid circuits are to be considered: the first is outside the tubes, the second inside the tubes. An inlet chamber receives the fluid which will be distributed inside the tubes and an outlet chamber receives the fluid having circulated in said tubes. The isolation between the two fluid circuits is ensured by two tubular plates on which the ends of the bundle tubes are welded.
If the fluid circulating inside the tubes is a mixture of an undispersed liquid phase and a gaseous phase, for example of a liquid phase in the presence of its saturated vapor, an inequality in the distribution of the liquid phase between the tubes constituting the bundle.
Devices tending to improve the distribution of a homogeneous liquid phase between the tubes of a multitubular exchanger have been described. Thus, French Patent No. 2,268,178 describes the installation, in the inlet chamber of an exchanger, of an openwork attached cover. This added cover is open at its top (located at the entrance to the inlet chamber of the exchanger). French Patent No. 2,280,436 describes a dispensing device formed by a conical or frustoconical cover pierced with orifices over its entire surface; the top of the cover can be flattened and can include a central orifice; the device is tightly connected to the widest edge of the envelope tube. German Patent No. 2,232,074 describes a device consisting of a massive and compact plate placed in the inlet chamber of an exchanger receiving a mixture of gas and liquid at high speed.
The devices according to the first two patents above are not satisfactory if the liquid phase (in particular a solution) is in the presence of a gas phase. In this case, the liquid entering from the upper part into the inlet chamber of the exchanger is always preferentially directed, although to a lesser extent compared to the exchangers not provided with these devices, towards the central tubes of the bundle. The device according to the third patent above does not achieve the object of the invention.
The object of the present invention is to ensure a uniform distribution of a liquid flowing by gravity in each tube of a vertical multitubular heat exchanger.
An object of the. The present invention relates to a liquid distributor device for multitubular heat exchangers with a falling film consisting of a cylindro-conical or cylindro-frustoconical cover, the conical or frustoconical part of said cover being closed. This device is intended to be fixed in the inlet chamber of a multitubular exchanger in such a way that the liquid entering the inlet chamber flows on the outside of the conical or frustoconical part of the device and then on the outside of the cylindrical part, then is distributed through the orifice (s) made between the bottom of the cylindrical part and the tube plate of the exchanger before being distributed in the bundle of tubes.
The angle at the top α of the conical or frustoconical part is advantageously between 140 and 160 Q. The outside diameter D of the cylindrical part is advantageously between 0.8 and 1.2 times the height H of said cylindrical part.
A particular embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Figures 1 and 2 show a dispensing device. In Figure 1 the cover is cylindrical-conical, in Figure 2 it is cylindrical-frustoconical. In these two figures, the references have the following meanings: (1) is the cylindrical part of the cover, (2) the conical (a) or frustoconical part (b), H and D respectively, the height and the outside diameter of the part cylindrical (1), 0 (the angle at the top of the conical or frustoconical part.
Another object of the present invention relates to a multitubular heat exchanger provided with the dispensing device described above. An example of such an exchanger is shown in Figure 3 in the appendix, in which (3) represents the shell of the exchanger, (4) the inlet chamber, (5) the inlet manifold, (8 ) the tube plate where the upper ends (7) of the tubes (6) constituting the bundle are welded. The dispensing device (A) is fixed by means of fixing lugs (13), so that all the openings of the tubes are located inside the dispensing device and that one or more orifices are formed between the bottom of the cylindrical part (1) and the tube plate (8). Advantageously, the height h of the opening (s) thus formed is between 5 and 15 mm. The outside diameter D of the cylindrical part (1) is chosen so as to leave a space between 1 and 5 mm between the internal wall of the inlet chamber (4) and the external wall of the cylindrical part (1) .
The total height of the dispensing device is at most equal to the height of the inlet chamber of the exchanger. Advantageously, and in order to obtain greater efficiency, this height is between 0.80 and 0.95 times the height of the chamber.
According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the distributor device is associated, in order to improve the distribution of the liquid on the internal wall of each tube of the exchanger, with a distributor device specific to each tube of the exchanger. This distributor device is preferably constituted by a cylindrical piece, provided with helical coils, partially engaged in each tube (6) of the exchanger and fixed at the end (7) of each tube so as to provide a space for passage side of the liquid. The overall diameter of the distributor device is slightly less than the inside diameter of the tube which will receive said distributor device. An example of an exchanger of which each tube is provided with such a distributor device is shown in partial section in FIG. 4 where (6) is a tube of the bundle whose end (7) is welded to the plate (8) , and (11) the distributor device comprising helical turns (12) fixed to the end of the tube (6) so that a space is provided for the lateral passage of the liquid.
The presence of such a distributor device at the inlet of each tube does not disturb the uniform distribution of the liquid between the different tubes, ensured by the distributor device.
The dispensing device according to the invention makes it possible to obtain a uniform distribution of the liquid between the tubes of the multitubular bundle of an exchanger.
The distributor device according to the invention, with which a distributor device is associated or not, finds a particularly advantageous application in installations for the concentration and dehydration of maleic acid implementing the process of static evaporation using co-currents, according to the French patent application n ° 80 / 13.117.
