Durch die Beschichtung erfolgen etwaige Schleierbildungen bzw. der Verbleib von Rückständen auf der dem Plattenkörper abgewandten Schichtseite, wodurch nach dem Entfernen der Schicht die Platte frei jeglicher Beeinflussung von Verlegematerialien oder Fugenmörtel ist. Dies wirkt sich in besonderem Maße vorteilhaft bei Platten mit starker porenhaltiger Schichtseite aus. Ferner erübrigen sich die sonst üblichen umständlichen Entsäuerungs- und Entschleierungsmaßnahmen. Außerdem sind die so vorbehandelten keramischen Platten schnell auch von weniger geübten Personen verlegbar. Zweckmäßig ist der Plattenkörper im Bereich der Sichtseite und an den Seitenflächem mit einer Beschichtung versehen.
