Description
The present invention relates to the operation of a built-in wood-burning appliance, capable of operating with an open or closed hearth on flues with a section equal to or greater than 200 cm 2 , this quality is advantageous in that it allows the connection of said devices to collective conduits with individual “Type Shunt” connection that are frequently found in collective buildings; in this case it is necessary to easily access the duct to carry out the sweeping operations, it must be able to easily move the device from where the invention specially designed to be embedded. Indeed, the device is in the form of a box without superstructure, which allows it to slide into various decorative arrangements without disassembly of the embedding elements, moreover a decorative frame slightly oversized relative to the box joint cover form ensuring the connection with these elements.
In order to ensure that the invention is built-in, the gases are evacuated on the rear face of the appliance, also to guarantee its proper functioning without the discharge of smoke inside the fireplace, it has been designed a volume located in front of the smoke evacuation sleeve called a “vacuum cage”. This is formed by the particular positioning of the flame deflector plate, which is arranged at the base of the smoke evacuation orifice and which joins the top of the box at a closed angle leaving an intake space; a low pressure volume is thus obtained, the effect of which is accentuated during operation by the high temperature communicated to the flame deflector plate. The advantage acquired by the said vacuum cage is that it increases the evacuation rate of the fumes located in the visible part of the fireplace, going so far as to allow, when the appliance is hot, operation with an open hearth (doors open), without the combustion speed being increased for this, in fact the passage of air formed around the doors made of transparent materials which repels the flow of smoke at the rear of the appliance contributes to rebalancing the pressure inside the hearth . The combustion air proper is distributed under the hearth grate via the ashtray drawer and is adjustable by a sliding door located in the lower part of the appliance.
Thus, said device has the advantage compared to existing devices on the market generally equipped with vertical outlets requiring the construction of "hood making the device irremovable without dismantling the built-in elements, to be easily movable for sweeping operations , it also offers the advantage of good visibility of the flame without accumulation of smoke inside the hearth which is particularly advantageous in the case of appliances with an apparent hearth.
- Figure 1 shows a general view of the device open on two sides.
- FIG. 2 represents the positioning of the deflector plate with respect to the smoke evacuation duct revealing the narrowing at its end with the top of the box through which the fumes are sucked into the space called "vacuum cage".
- Figure 3 shows a side view of the device where the doors are shown in transparent materials with the air passages provided at their periphery, as well as the ashtray drawer positioned under the hearth grate.
- FIG. 4 shows the air circulation intended for heat recovery as well as the hot air outlet space formed under the decorative frame forming a joint cover with the embedding elements. It also materializes the positioning of refractory brick facing ...
- Figure 5 shows schematically the pressure hinges for doors made of transparent materials.
The device shown in Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4, consists of a metal box (1) provided with a gas discharge nozzle (6) located at the rear of the device in the part top of the wall forming the bottom, and a flame deflector plate (3) located just below which joins the top of the box (1) and the plate (2) constituting the drain to form a volume (5) and a space (4) intended for the admission of combustion gases.
A double partition (8), provided with baffles (9) having the effect of increasing the surface of the heat exchanges, is intended to recover the heat stored by the lining of refractory bricks (7), the convection air is introduced into the device by an adjustable box located at the bottom of the device (II) and comes out under the frame decorative (19) in the upper part of the device which forms a joint cover and directs the flow of hot air downwards (12). The plate (2) forming a drain has an angle of 20 ° with the doors of transparent materials (13) around which is formed a space (20) intended to create a current of air driving the flow of smoke at the rear of the device thus protecting doors made of transparent materials from tar deposits while oxygenating the firebox in the central part. The transparent material doors are fixed by pressure hinges (14) requiring no perforation or metal frame likely to reduce the visible space of the fireplace. In its lower part the device consists of a base (15) provided with a log grate (16) and an ashtray (17) as well as a sliding door (18) used for adjusting the draft.
