Abstract

Method for filling and emptying a plate-freezing installation, where the products to be frozen are packed in frames 22 or the like, an interspace between two freezing plates 11 being opened by the freezing plate 11 above the interspace being held in position while the freezing plates 11 below are lowered, whereupon the frames to be frozen are pushed into the interspace by a pushing-in device 7 and these frames push out the frozen frames which are already located in the interspace, characterized in that the frames 22 coming into the interspace are pushed so far that the front edge of the frames 22 comes outside the edge of the freezing plate 11 in order thus to ensure that the frames 22 pushed out have come completely out of the interspace, whereupon the frames 22 to be frozen are pushed back and completely in between the freezing plates 11 by a pushing-back device 19. A plate-freezing installation adapted to the method is also described. <IMAGE>
