Claims (7)

1. Medikamentverificeringsapparat, der omfatter: (a) et lederør med et indløbsområde i en første ende til modtagelse af et medikament og mindst ét udløbsområde i en anden ende til afgivelse af medikamentet; (b) en billedoptagelsesanordning placeret tilstødende til en billedoptagelseszone af lederøret til optagelse af et billede af medikamentet i billedoptagelseszonen; (c) et antal lyskilder, der er orienteret omkring billedoptagelseszonen, til belysning af medikamentet under billedoptagelse med mindst én lyskilde, der tilvejebringer direkte belysning til billedoptagelse aftrykte markeringer på medikamentet, og mindst én lyskilde, der tilvejebringer tangential belysning til forøgelse af kontrasten af overfladetræk på medikamentet; (d) et verificeringssystem, der kommunikerer med billedoptagelsesanordningen til sammenligning af billedet af medikamentet med et antal billeder af medikamenter i en database til identificering af medikamentet; og (e) et outputsystem, der kommunikerer med verificeringssystemet til generering af en angivelse af det identificerede medikament.
2. Apparat ifølge krav 1, hvor verificeringssystemet yderligere omfatter: et medikamentidentificeringssystem, der indbefatter en billedanalysator til analyse af billedet og sammenligning af billedet med antallet af billeder i databasen; og et dispenseringsanalysesystem til sammenligning af medikamentet identificeret ved hjælp af medikamentidentificeringssystemet med en ordinationsregistrering for en patient til verificering af, at medikamentet er passende til patienten, hvor dispenseringsanalysesystemet er indrettet til at foretage en bestemmelse valgt fra en gruppe, der består af: a) om medikamentet er et korrekt medikament til administration til patienten, b) om medikamentet er af en korrekte styrke til administration til patienten og c) om et tidspunkt for administrering af medikamentet er et korrekt tidspunkt til administration af medikamentet til patienten.
3. Apparat ifølge krav 1, der yderligere omfatter en sensor, der er placeret tilstødende til en udløserzone af lederøret til registrering af information om pillen, når den passerer gennem lederøret til indstilling af et korrekt tidspunkt for optagelse af billedet af medikamentet eller tilvejebringelse af lys i billedoptagelseszonen.
4. Apparat ifølge krav 1, der yderligere omfatter en dispenseringsbeholder med en åbning til modtagelse af medikamentet fra lederøret, et låg, et identifikationssystem, der kan programmeres med en identifikationskode for en specifik patient, som skal have administreret medikamentet, og en låsemekanisme, der er indrettet til at låse det lukkede låg og låse det op som reaktion på, at identifikationssystemet genkender en unik identifikator for den specifikke patient.
5. Apparat ifølge krav 1, hvor lederøret er orienteret i en vinkel på ca. 5 til 89 grader i forhold til tyngdekraften eller en anden ekstern kraft, der udøves på medikamentet.
6. Apparat ifølge krav 1, hvor lyskilderne er kontinuerlige.
7. Fremgangsmåde til medikamentverificering, der omfatter: modtagelse af et medikament i apparatet ifølge krav 1; optagelse af et billede af medikamentet og identificering af medikamentet på basis af en signatur på et billede af medikamentet ved anvendelse af apparatet ifølge krav 1; og generering en angivelse af det identificerede medikament.
