Abstract

A radiator (1) control method where a valve (2) and an actuator (2) residing on the radiator inlet (4) is controlled by a room temperature sensor (6) and a radiator temperature sensor (7). The actuator (2) controls the valve (2). The room temperature sensor (6) can be placed anywhere in the room, even on the radiator. The radiator sensor (7) measures either; the surface temperature of the radiator body (1) or inlet (4) or outlet (5), or the temperature of the circulated heating liquid inside the radiator body (1) or inlet (4) or outlet (5). The sensors and the actuator (2) communicates using any combination of wired (8) and wireless connections. The invention can, for instance, be used with residential heating. It provides better energy efficiency and more reliable temperature control and thus better comfort than other radiator control systems, for instance inlet and outlet thermostats.
