Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1 til 3, kende -tegnet ved, at hydrolysen af 5-(9H-carbazol-4-yloxymethyl) -3- [2- (2-methoxy-phenoxy) -ethyl] -oxazoli-din-2-on (IX) eller et syreadditionssalt deraf udføres i basisk medium. 5. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1 til 3, kendetegnet ved, at hydrolysen af 5-(9H-carbazol-4-yloxymethyl) -3- [2- (2-methoxy-phenoxy) -ethyl] -oxazoli-din-2-on (IX) eller et syreadditionssalt deraf udføres i et surt medium. 6. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 5, kendetegne t ved, at syreadditionssaltet af 1-(9H-carbazol-4-yloxy) -3- [2- (2-methoxy-phenoxy) -ethylamino] -propan-2-ol med formlen (I) er et additionssalt af saltsyre, hydrogenbromid, svovlsyre, phosphorsyre, salpetersyre, kulsyre, eddikesyre, smørsyre, ravsyre, æblesyre, maleinsyre, fumarsyre eller citronsyre. 7. Fremgangsmåde ifølge et vilkårligt af kravene 1 til 6, kendetegnet ved, at alkyleringen af forbindelse VII med 4-hydroxycarbazol (VIII) udføres i et opløsningsmiddel, som er en alkohol indeholdende 1-6 carbonatomer. 8.
