Abstract

The orthesis (8) for stabilizing a hip joint and preventing dislocation has an adjustable (12) belt (10) passing round the patient's pelvis. A chain link (20) to a femur pressure plate (13) has an adjustable screw (24,30) mounting with vertical (27) and horizontal (30) slots. The lower end of the femur pressure plate is connected to a padded (40) plastics ring (38) round the patient's leg via a metal strut (22).
