Abstract
The invention relates to a method for separating a liquid, especially water, from particles suspended therein, by floatation. The method comprises the production of a mixture of a carrier gas and a flotation gas. The concentration of the floatation gas in the mixture can be from a few per mil to approximately 10 percent. This mixture is introduced into the liquid, whereupon the carrier gas is largely dissolved in said liquid. The remaining bubble-forming floatation gas comes into contact with the suspended particles and carries them to the surface of the liquid, forming foam.
