Abstract

Cosmetic and dermatological compsn. contains at least one ceramide 6. Pref. amt. of ceramide 6I present is at least 9.8% of total ceramides and that of ceramide 6II is at least 13.6% of total ceramides. The compsn. may be formulated as emulsions, lotions, gels, dispersions, sticks, sprays and aerosol foams using conventional adjuvants etc. There is pref. 0.01-20 (esp. 0.05-10)% ceramide 6 in the final compsn.
