Abstract

A process and device are disclosed for treating organic biological residues, in particular domestic and/or industrial waste. In order to avoid bridge formation and optimise homogenisation, the material is conveyed by a worm conveyor in a closed loop inside a reactor. For pressing the liquid fraction out, the conveyor worm may press the material against a slide guided in the conveyor passage or a separate press is used that successively services several homogenising and mixing containers.
