Abstract

The invention relates to a fireproof glazing for avoiding the passage of fire and smoke in the event of fire from one room into another, with at least one, in particular a number of fireproof panes which are arranged next to one another and contain a foaming means as protective material. In order to produce a simply constructed fireproof glazing, the components of which require no additional fireproofing measures, such as external or internal insulation of the supporting construction, it is proposed with the invention that each abutting surface of the fireproof pane (1), forming a narrow joint (6), adjoins directly a surface of the neighbouring structure, in particular fireproof pane (1), without insulation and that the joint (6) is in the event of fire closed in a fireproof and smokeproof manner by the foaming means of the fireproof pane (1). <IMAGE>
