Abstract

The invention describes a device for the treatment of ferrous scrap contained in incinerated household waste, the said device being equipped with a rotatable screening drum (3) and at least one magnetic separator. Attached to the cylindrical inner wall of the screening drum are vanes (5, 6) acting in such a way that, when the screening drum is rotated, the scrap is carried upwards and then falls freely onto the bottom of the drum. This detaches ash and slag particles sticking to the pieces of iron as well as rust and scale, and relatively large pieces of slag are broken up. <IMAGE>
