Peeling preparation

The present invention relates to a novel peeling preparation for skin treatment with improved usage properties.

Peeling preparations for skin cleansing and regeneration have been known for a long time and are available in various variations on the market. In addition to the so-called peeling masks, they are also made up in the form of creams or powder creams, which usually contain, in addition to the usual cream ingredients, a powder that has a mild abrasive effect and is intended in particular to remove dead skin.

Almond bran is predominantly used as such a powdered component; however, compositions containing other powders such as polyethylene with a particle size in the micrometer range have also become known.

However, the known compositions have the disadvantage that their abrasive effect is either not sufficient to achieve complete removal of the callused skin, or is too abrasive and therefore causes skin irritation.

The task was therefore to find peeling products that do not have these disadvantages.

It has now been found that this object can be achieved and peeling preparations with good cleaning action but without any skin irritation are obtained by adding to them about 5 to about 30% by weight, based on the total composition of the preparation, of a powdered cellulose with an average particle size in the range from about 100 to about 500 μια, in particular between about 200 to about 400 μια .

The preferred proportion of cellulose powder is between about 7 and about 20, in particular up to about 15% by weight of the total composition.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the effect of the peeling preparation can be further increased by adding about 0.1 to about 3, preferably about 0.2 to about 1% by weight, calculated on the total composition, of salicylic acid.

The peeling preparations according to the invention can be in any cosmetically usual and applicable form; they are preferably applied as creams, i.e. water-in-oil or oil-in-water emulsions, powder creams or gels. These contain the basic and additive substances usual in cosmetic products; to avoid repetition, reference is made to the relevant

If desired, other active ingredients commonly used in skin care can also be added to the peeling preparations according to the invention; these include in particular the well-known fruit acids and ct-hydroxycarboxylic acids and their salts, for example lactic acid in an amount of between 0.05 and 1% by weight, tartaric acid, citric acid, malic acid and amino acids. These active substances are known per se and are also described in Schrader, I.e., as are the well-known skin moisturizers, for example glycerin, diglycerin, triglycerin, sorbitol, pyrrolidonecarboxylic acids, etc.

The preferred cellulose powder is "pharmaceutical cellulose" as defined in DAB 8 and obtained from plant cellulose by chemical digestion and purification. One such product is sold by Nova, for example, under the name "CEL-Phannazicellulose".

With each of the products mentioned in Examples 1 to 4, when applied to the facial skin and then massaged in and rinsed off with water, complete removal of skin residues was achieved without any skin irritation being observed, compared to a conventional product based on almond bran.

Claims (6)

Peeling preparation for skin treatment, containing about 5 to about 30% by weight, calculated on the total composition, of a powdered cellulose having an average particle size in the range of about 100 to about 500 μια. 2. Peeling preparation according to claim 1, characterized in that the powdered cellulose has an average particle size of between about 200 to about 400 μm . 3. Peeling preparation according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized characterized in that it contains about 7 to about 20% by weight, calculated on the total composition, of powdered cellulose. 4. Peeling preparation according to one or more of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that it additionally contains 0.1 to 3% by weight, calculated on the total composition, of salicylic acid. 5. Peeling preparation according to claim 4, characterized in that it contains about 0.2 to about 1% by weight, calculated on the total composition, of salicylic acid. 6. Use of a powdered cellulose with a medium Particle size in the range of about 100 to 500 μα for the production of peeling preparations for skin treatment.
