OSCAR SCHMIDT in BERLIN. Verfahren zur Reinigung von Abwässern. OSCAR SCHMIDT in BERLIN. Process for the purification of waste water.
Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 15. März 1895 ab. Längste Dauer: 17. April 1908.Patented in the German Empire on March 15, 1895. Longest duration: April 17, 1908.
The one protected by patent no Process falls off a sludge, which in very many cases, e.g. B. when he is from urban Wastewater obtained, considerable quantities of fats and resins, as well as wax contains; part of the fat is also present as soap. The sludge, or its main constituent, the humus substance, as has been established by special experiments, holds more than 99 per cent. of the substances listed, so that in dry form it can contain up to 15 percent or more of it. Through this the added iron salts, as was also determined, the resins and phlobaphenes in insoluble compound with iron, so one can remove the fats of the rinsing liquid free from the resins of the raw materials mentioned, such as peat and lignite, with the usual Extract solvents. An extraction method has proven to be particularly practical, after which the dried. Mud is extracted with high-percentage alcohol. Of the The extract then evaporated gives off only petroleum or coal benzenes, especially At ordinary temperature, all fats off, while all resinous, as well as soap-like, off substances from the rinsing liquid remain. But you can of course also directly with benzene or carbon disulfide can win the whole extractable body, only that one can then the soaps would have to be obtained by a special, subsequent alcohol extraction.
,The present invention now forms a method, these residues from the Bring extraction into solid form and make it suitable for further use. to At the end of the process, the residues are thickened with the final liquors from molasses-alcohol production or the final liquors of molasses desugarization or similar nitrogen-rich Substances mixed in a warm state, what a mixture without difficulty going on. After cooling, the mixture forms firm cakes, which easily form suitable for coking. When coking, the nitrogen contained in the mass is obtained as ammonia in the form of ammonia water, while the carbon is one part in the form of luminous or Heating gas, partly received in the form of solid, dense coke will. ,
Further boiling of the coke with hydrochloric acid also increases the amount of iron used in the process recovered, while at the same time the quality of the coke thereby, especially

Claims (1)
Process for the further processing of the sludge obtained by the process of patent no. 87417, characterized in that the same, advantageously after extraction of the fats has taken place, soaps, etc. sw, is mixed with the final liquors of the molasses-spirit or molasses-desugarization production or other nitrogen-containing liquids and the cakes obtained from them are coked, whereby, in addition to luminous gas or heating gas, the nitrogen is obtained in the form of ammonia water.
2. An embodiment of the process protected by claim 1, characterized in that the hot coke is leached with water in order to obtain the potash and soda compounds, while by further boiling the coke with hydrochloric acid to recover the in the process according to patent no 87417 applied iron a pure coke can be obtained.
