Squash racket

The invention relates to a squash racket with a handle, a shaft and a head, the head consisting of a frame with a stringing of longitudinal strings running parallel to the shaft and cross strings running perpendicular to it.

Such squash rackets are widely known. As a rule, they have a relatively small, almost elliptical racket surface. There are also known designs in which modifications to the frame shape have been made in the transition area between the shaft and head of the racket, the so-called heart area of the racket. According to one known modification, the frame was designed in a V-shape in the heart area. Another modification is designed in such a way that the longest longitudinal string is arranged laterally offset from the geometric longitudinal axis of the shaft. Despite these changes to the frame, these previously known squash rackets only allow unsatisfactory ball control.

The object of the present invention is therefore to further develop a squash racket of the type mentioned at the beginning in such a way that the ball control achievable with it is improved.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the frame encloses an almost pear-shaped area, with the tapered end attached to the shaft, and that the tapered end of the frame is designed so wide that at least eight longitudinal strings of almost equal length can fit next to each other.

These at least eight longitudinal strings, which are approximately the same length and arranged next to each other, have an approximately equal amplitude of vibration when hit, which leads to a uniform vibration behavior of the strings in this area. This allows for significantly better ball control.

According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the eight longitudinal strings of almost equal length are approximately 26-30 cm and preferably approximately 28 cm long. This makes them approximately 10 cm longer than the longitudinal strings of conventional squash rackets. According to an advantageous embodiment, the total stringing area is approximately 350 cm ² . This results in a larger sweet spot compared to conventional rackets. This means that in the area of the stringing of the racket head of the squash racket according to the invention, a larger area is provided in which the ball to be played can hit with the best possible ball control.

According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the shaft is designed as a round shaft made of graphite fiberglass with a continuous handle and a one-piece molded frame designed as a flat profile. An open center piece can be provided at the transition from the shaft to the head of the club.

Further details and advantages of the present invention are explained using the embodiment shown in the single figure.

The figure shows a top view of a squash racket according to the invention.

The squash racket 10 is made of graphite fiberglass and has a round shaft 14 with a continuous, i.e. integrally molded handle 12. The frame 18 of the head 16 of the racket, which is designed as a flat profile, is also integrally molded. The transition from the shaft 14 to the head 16 is formed by an open core 26. The integrally molded and thus integrated handle 12 is wrapped in the usual way with a grip tape 13.

The frame 18 of the head 16 borders on an almost pear-shaped surface, as can be seen from the figure. The tapered end 24 is attached to the shaft 14, more precisely to the core 26.

The frame 18 has a stringing of longitudinal strings 20 running parallel to the shaft 14 and cross strings 22 running perpendicular to it. The longitudinal strings 20 and the cross strings 22 can be made in a conventional manner from plastic or gut or other common stringing materials for squash rackets. The tapered end 24 of the pear-shaped frame 18 is now made so wide that at least eight longitudinal strings 20 of almost equal length can fit next to each other. These longitudinal strings have a length of approx. 28 cm. The stringing has a total area of approx. 350 cm ² .

Squash racket according to claim 1, characterized in that the at least eight longitudinal strings (20) of almost equal length have a length of approximately 26-30 cm, preferably approximately 28 cm. 3.
