Description

Process for the recovery of the desulphurisation of pig iron or Steel or the like. B. in desulfurization and cleaning of iron and steel baths in significant amounts of soda ash A whole series of proposals have already been made with the aim of either magnetically or in setting machines to prepare the slag in order to remove it to free the alkaline and sulfur-bearing deaf constituents and so that to recover iron present in the slag as granules or the slag z. B. to be used as a raw material for glass production or other processes. In any case, however, considerable expenditures have to be made in order to utilize the slag. The subject of the invention is a process for the utilization of the desulfurization from pig iron or steel or the like the soda slag without prior treatment using an acidic slag feed Blast furnace is fed in such quantities that the alkali content of the resulting Blast furnace slag is at least about 2.5%. It is achieved at the same time the blast furnace slag produced during acid smelting has such a composition to give that it takes practically no iron due to its increased fluidity. It has also been found that the bound Fe content is also more basic Blast furnace slag only marginally exceeds if the alkali content of the slag is within the limits from about 2.5 to 3.5%, depending on the selected lime-silica ratio.

At first it seems absurd to remove the pig iron after it has been tapped Blast furnace to remove the sulfur by desulfurizing agents and then the sulfur to melt down enriched soda ash again.

»Stahl und Eisen«, 1938, S.30).The absorption capacity of the acid blast furnace slag for sulfur is however, as large-scale experiments have shown, this is due to the alkaline enrichment increased so that, as the sulfur balance shows, about 90% of that with the coke and Möller (including soda ash) into the blast furnace to add sulfur to the slag pass over, while this amount is only used in acidic melting without the soda slag task is about 7111 / o (see "Stahl und Eisen", 1938, p.30).

A considerable advantage is also achieved in that slag with a lime-silica ratio of about 0.8 to 0.85% and an alkali content from about 2.5 to 3.5 '/ 0, preferably poured into beds, solidify in a crystalline manner and thus, e.g. B. as road construction material, are usable.
