The invention relates to a ballpoint pen with a tubular body, in which a refill is slidably arranged, which can be moved between an extended and a retracted position and with one end cooperating with a cam surface on the front side of a switching element which is mounted on the tubular body so as to be rotatable about -middle longitudinal axis,

The purpose of the invention is to design a ballpoint pen of this type so that it can be manufactured more easily and more cost-effectively.

This purpose is achieved according to the invention in that the

Switching element has an annular seat into _which a fastening part formed on a plastic retaining clip fastened to the tubular body engages in such a way that it prevents movements of the switching element in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the tubular body, and that the retaining clip has a recess with a substantially T-shaped cross-section, ^! which forms a positive connection with a projection of a corresponding shape protruding from the outer surface of the tubular body.

The ballpoint pen shown in the drawings is designated as 1 in its entirety. It has a tubular body 2 made from an injection-molded plastic part, in which a refill 4 with writing ink is slidably mounted.

As can be seen from Fig. 4, the upper end of the lead 4 is held in contact with a transmission element 6 by the force of a helical spring 8. The transmission element 6 works in a known manner with a cam surface 10 which is formed on the front side of a switching element 2 which is mounted on the tubular body 2 so as to be rotatable about its longitudinal axis A. The switching element 12 is a plastic injection-molded part and has a spherical head 14 in its upper end region, with which the user can rotate the switching element 12 relative to the tubular body 2 and thereby bring about the transition of the lead 4 from the extended working position to a retracted rest position and vice versa.

In the body of the switching element 12, below the spherical head 4, an annular seat 16 is formed, in which a fastening part 18 is arranged, which is formed in one piece with the body of a retaining clip 20, which is also a plastic injection-molded part. The part 18 of the retaining clip 20 is arranged in a recess 22 of the tubular body 2 and has a rounded front surface 24, which is opposite the seat 16 for the switching element 12 and enables the switching element 12 to rotate, its movement in the direction of the longitudinal axis A of the tubular body.

As can be seen from Fig. 4, ^a projection 26 with a T-shaped cross section projects from the outer surface of the tubular body 2 , onto which the retaining clip 20 is placed. As shown in Fig. 3, a cavity 28 is formed in the retaining clip 20, the shape of which corresponds to that of the projection 26 and which forms a positive connection with the latter. On the front side 30 of the retaining clip 20, a countersunk seat 32 is formed, on the surface of which two through holes 34 are arranged above and below the socket 26 of the tubular body 2. In these holes 34 of the retaining clip 20, correspondingly shaped pins 36 engage which are provided on a plate 38 let into the seat 32 of the retaining clip 20. As can be seen from Fig. 2, the outer surface of the plate is flush with the wall 30 of the retaining clip 20. The lower pin 36 of the plate 38 is arranged below the shoulder 26 of the tubular body 2 and thus prevents the retaining clip 20 and the switching element 12 from being able to be moved upwards.
