Passenger carrier for an amusement ride

The invention relates to a passenger carrier with a passenger compartment for a self-contained amusement ride, in which one or more passenger vehicles are guided over ascending, descending and curved rails.

Such amusement rides are also known as "roller coasters" or "roller coasters". They are intended to give the passenger a lasting impression by having complex and changing forces act on them during the ride. To increase the appeal of such a ride, these amusement rides have been continually varied.

DP - 05 25 04 011 describes such a variation of the basic concept in which the rails have a spiral shape.

A further increase in lasting impressions for the passenger was sought and found by varying the track layout and/or overhead rides. During all this driving pleasure, the passenger sits or stands in the direction of travel; rigidly in one direction.

The invention is therefore based on the object of designing a passenger compartment of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that the passenger can, by means of additional rotary movements,

not previously known "driving feeling".

The invention solves this problem by means of a passenger carrier in a known design, but the passenger compartment is arranged so that it can rotate. In a simple design, the passenger compartment can be provided with a bolt/ball swivel joint or other known swivel joint.

The pivot point is offset from the center of gravity in the direction of travel/off-center to allow an eccentric rotation
to reach.

When cornering, the passenger compartment is subject to
changing centrifugal force. It performs corresponding rotational movements, depending on the speed of the passenger carrier and the respective radius and/or
Cross slope of the rail curve.

In the embodiments, the movements of the passenger compartment can be cushioned and/or dampened, for which purpose known spring systems or pneumatic or hydraulic elements are used.

During the journey, the passenger no longer occupies a rigid position; he is moved on a three-dimensional wave line that deviates from the track axis in the direction of travel.

A particular advantage of the passenger compartment according to the invention is that it can also be retrofitted into existing amusement facilities.

Passenger carrier for a self-contained amusement ride, in which one or more passenger vehicles are guided over uphill and downhill tracks and on curves, characterized in that the passenger compartment (1) is arranged to be rotatable or movable in all directions within its passenger carrier. 2. Passenger carrier according to claim 1, characterized in that the passenger compartment (1) is pivotally connected to the base frame (2) with a bolt (5), ball joint or other suitable rotary joints of all kinds. Passenger carrier according to claim 1, characterized in that the pivot point (3) is offset from the center of gravity (4) in the direction of travel in order to achieve an eccentric movement through the attached center of gravity for the passenger carrier. 4-.
