Gemäß der Erfindung wird dagegen in einfacher und wirtschaftlicher Weise ein besonders hochwertiges Futtermittel aus den Abfällen der Zuckererzeugung dadurch gewonnen, daß das bei der Schleuderung von z. r. durch Alkali-Z, vorzugsweise Kalk, isoelektrisch gefällten Zuckersäften in Separatoren anfallende Konzentrat getrocknet wird, das die für die Ernährung wertvollen Stoffe, wie Zucker, Eiweiß, Calciumphosphat, in besonders hoher Konzentration enthält und sich deshalb vorzüglich als Futtermittel eignet. Dieses Konzentrat wird zweckmäßig durch Verdünnung mit Wasser und abermaliges Abschleudern in Überlaufzentrifugen oder Separatoren von der Hauptmenge des noch darin enthaltenen Zuckers befreit. Der Rest wird dann entweder für sich allein eingedickt und getrocknet oder vor der Trocknung mit Rübenschnitzeln oder Melasse oder mit den beiden Stoffen gemischt und in dieser Form getrocknet und verwendet.
