Description
Verfahren und Vorrichtung zum Herstellen von Kernsand Die Erfindung betrifft :ein Verfahren zum Herstellen von Kernsand aus zerkleinerter Kupolofenschlacke und besteht darin, daß die Zerkleinerung durch Einwirken eines Wasserstrahls auf die flüssige Kupolofenschlacke erfolgt und die derart zerkleinerte K upolofenschlacke gegebenenfalls einer anschließenden maschinellen Kornverfeinerung unterworfen wird. Im Züsamm-enhang mit diesem Vorschlag wird .als Vorrichtung zur Ausführung des Verfahrens eine solche gewählt, die dadurch, gekennzeichnet ist, @daß als Ablaufrinne für das vorn Wasser umspülte S:chI;ackenbgwt ein geschlossenes, ungefuttertes Eisenrohr dient und daß ferner de; Ablaufrinne wn: ihrem vorderen Teil in der Fallebene wellenförmig verläuft. Es ist bekannt, fein zerkleinerte Kupolofenschlacke zum Herstellen von Kernen unter Verwendung eines Bindemittels zu benutzen. Diesem Bekannten gegenüber wird =durch die gemäß der Erfindung vorgeschlagene Art der Zerkleinerung von Kupolofenschlacke durch einen Wasserstrahl für die spätere Verwendung als Kernsand ein feinkörnigeres und weniger dichtes Erzeugnis erhalten, als wenn die Kupolofenachlacke, wie es beim Bekannten geschieht, mechanisch zerkleinert wird.
