Description

Method of Making Orthopedic Footrests The invention relates to a method for 'producing orthopedic footrests from several together glued wooden panels, in particular plywood panels. There are insoles known from wood, which consists of several thin layers of wood glued together with crossed fibers, which after gluing into the required forte are brought. This subsequent pressing of the layers of wood that have already been glued together however, requires a considerable pressing pressure and tears in easily the individual layers, for whatever reason one has planned, the two To provide cover layers with a covering of woven strips. These disadvantages will be avoided in the method according to the invention that the wood platelets loose layered in a moist .armem condition pressed into the final shape and after Hardening to be conceived with one another. By the fact that the gluing of the wooden panels only takes place in the already bent state, the loosely layered Platelets move easily during the preheating process according to the different fiber directions bend and give way without any cracks or cracks occurring. By the moistening of the individual platelets for the pressing process also causes the deformation facilitated, and the pressure to be applied is thus much lower than when pressing layers of wood that have been lent to one another. You can continue to look for the new Process deform a large number of stacked platelets, so that after your gluing, stronger supports are obtained than with already glued plywood panels is possible. The support is only after the leaning still wiped out, so there is no further stress on the glue from any Measures such as heat or moisture treatment are more carried out.

C, D der Fig. i. In a particular embodiment of the method according to the invention, a wooden plate made of soft and absorbent precious wood, e.g. B. birch, can be used, whereby the use of special fabric covers o. The like. Is unnecessary. The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the embodiment shown in the drawing. It shows: Fi.g. i shows a footrest according to the new method in the diagram and FIGS. 2 and 3 show a longitudinal and cross-section along the lines .4, B and C, D of FIG. The footrest shown consists of four small pieces of wood a made of normal plywood in a thickness of about 1 mm, which are cut out of flat panels in the shape of the outline of the footrest, then placed one on top of the other and pressed into the final shape. As a result, the individual layers can easily move relative to one another, which makes deformability easier.

The small plates pressed into their final shape are then glued together, whereupon the plastering work on the edges and the like are carried out. The finished footrest can be provided with a paint or lacquer finish and a leather trim c on the front end. The upper plywood plate is made of soft and absorbent precious wood.
