Description
Gesinterte harte Metallegierung für Arbeitsgeräte und Werkzeuge, insbesondere Ziehsteine Die vorliegende Erfindung bezweckt, gesinterten harten Metallegierungen für Arbeitsgeräte ,und Werkzeuge, die aus einem Wolframearbid mit etwa 3 bis 7 °/o Kohlenstoffgehalt und einem zusätzlichen Hilfsmetall von wesentlich niedrigerem Schmelzpunkt, wie etwa Eisen, Kobalt oder Nickel, in Mengen bis :2o '/o bestehen, eine feinkörnige Struktur zu verleihen, die die Schneidhaltigkeit der erzeugten Geräte und Werkzeuge erhöht. Dieser Zweck wird, wie erfindungsgemäß festgestellt wurde, erreicht, wenn die Legierung noch zusätzlich Vanadincarbid, Niobcarbid oder Tantalcarbid, also die Carbide der hochschmelzenden Metalle der fünften Gruppe des periodischen Systems enthält. Es sind zwar bereits geschmolzene tantal-, vanadin- oder niobhaltige Carbidlegierungen bekannt; diese sind jedoch verhältnismäßig spröde und werden an Zähigkeit und Leistungsfähigkeit von der neuen Legierung bei weitem übertroffen. Auch gab das Verhalten dieser erschmolzenen Legierungen keinerlei Anhaltspunkte dafür, daß ein Zusatz an Vanadincarbid, Niobcarbid oder Tantalcarbid bei gesinterten, aus Wolframcarbid und Hilfsmetall bestehenden Hartmetallegierungen den obenerwähnten Vorteil im Gefolge hat. Es ist ferner bereits vorgeschlagen worden, aus den Elementen Titan, Zirkon, Thorium, Silicium, V anadium, Tautal, Chrom, Molybdän, Wolfram, Uran oder deren Gemischen oder Legierungen durch Schmelzen oder Sintern Formkörper herzustellen und diese oberflächlich zu carburieren.
