Die Vorrichtung besteht aus einem auf dem Boden des Waschkessels stehenden Behälter, welcher in drei Abtheilungen eingetheilt ist, von denen die mittlere offen ist und die beiden anderen in keiner directen Verbindung mit dem umspülenden Wasser stehen. Von jeder Abtheilung zweigt ein Rohr nach oben ab; jedes derselben besitzt ein Verbindungsstück, welches in das Steigerohr übergeht. Dadurch wird erreicht, dafs jeder der seitlichen Räume seinen Dampf nur durch sein oben befindliches Rohr abgeben kann, und durch die Heftigkeit der Ausströmung werden Wassertheile durch das mit der mittleren Kammer in Verbindung stehende Rohr mitgerissen und durch den Auswurf übe'r die Wäsche gegossen. In der Haube B kommt derselbe zusammen und steigt weiter in dem Steigerohr nach aufwärts. Die Dämpfe nehmen mithin den in der Fig. 3 durch punktirte Pfeile angedeuteten Weg, indefs haben diese sich in der Haube B vereinigenden Strömungen das Bestreben, das kurz vor der Vereinigung Zwischenliegende mit sich zu reifsen und mithin saugend auf die Mündung des Rohres c zu wirken.
