Verfahren und Vorrichtung zum Sortieren von Zigaretten o. dgl. Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Sortieren von Zigaretten o. dgl. Gegenständen in ungleichartige Gruppen oder Klassen. Sie beschäftigt sich mit solchen Vorrichtungen, mit welchen Zigaretten o. dgl. Artikel, die an einer Seite einen Aufdruck o. dgl. tragen, an einer Ermittlungsstelle vorbeigeführt werden. Diese Ermittlungsstelle wird durch einen Strahl einer Strahlenenergie, z. B. Licht- oder Wärmeenergie oder beides, gebildet, der auf jede Zigarette o. dgl. der Reihe nach geworfen wird und dessen Rückstrahlung auf eine empfindliche Vorrichtung durch die Sichtbarkeit oder Nichtsichtbarkeit des Aufdruckes so geändert wird, daß ein elektrischer Strom in bekannter Weise beim Durchgang durch die lichtempfindliche Vorrichtung Änderungen unterworfen wird. Die Sortiervorrichtung umfaßt eine endlose Kette i o, welche auf Kettenrädern i i und 12 geführt wird. Letztere werden durch waagerecht liegende Wellen 13 und 1 4. angetrieben. Die Kette i o bewegt sich von links nach rechts und trägt in gewissen Abständen eine Reihe von Taschen 15, in welche je eine Zigarette 16 entweder von Hand oder durch geeignete Vorrichtungen aufgelegt wird. Die Zigaretten liegen in einem rechten Winkel zu ihrer Wegrichtung, und jede Zigarette trägt in der Nähe des einen Bandes eine Aufschrift 17, d. h. den Herstellernamen u. dgl. Es wird weiterhin vorausgesetzt, daß einige dieser Zigaretten in den Taschen 15 so liegen, daß der Aufdruck oben ist, während andere mit ihrer Aufschrift nach unten liegen. Beim Packen von Zigaretten ist es nun wünschenswert, daß alle Aufdrucke sich an der Oberseite befinden, so daß es notwendig wird, die Zigaretten in zwei verschiedene Gruppen zu trennen und eine Gruppe abzutrennen, deren Aufschriften nach unten liegen. Gegebenenfalls können diese Zigaretten auf dem weiteren Wege von Hand oder durch geeignete Vorrichtungen gewendet werden. Die Zigaretten werden auf ihrem Wege durch das endlose Band io an einer Ermittlungsstelle vorbeigeführt, an welcher eine Lampe 18 angeordnet ist, welche einen Lichtstrahl der Reihe nach auf jede Zigarette wirft. Von dieser Zigarette aus wird der Lichtstrahl nach einer Selenzelle i9 zurückgeworfen. Je nachdem der Aufdruck bei der an der Ermittlungsstelle befindlichen Zigarette sichtbar oder nicht sichtbar ist, ändert sich die Intensität des auf die Selenzelle geworfenen Lichtstrahles und somit auch der elektrische Strom, welcher durch diese Zelle fließt. Diese Änderungen werden weiterhin dazu ausgenutzt, um alle Zigaretten, deren Aufdruck nach unten liegt, abzutrennen, ohne sie aus der Reihe zu entfernen. Eine zweite endlose Kette 2o läuft parallel zu der erstgenannten und wird von den Zahnrädern 2 i und 22 auf den Wellen 13 und 14 getragen. Die Kette 2o trägt eine Anzahl von Hülsen 23, welche auf der ganzen Länge der Kette so verteilt sind, daß j e eine jeder Tasche 15 gegenübersteht. Jede Hülse trägt einen Stößer 24 mit einem Kopf 25. Letzterer ist mit einem Stift 26 versehen. Parallel zu den beiden Ketten ist eine geradlinige Führung 27 vorgesehen, während eine zweite und verhältnismäßig kurze Führung 28 zwischen der Führung 27 und der Zigarettenbahn angeordnet ist. An dem vorderen Ende der zweiten Führung 28 ist eine bewegliche Weiche 29 vorgesehen, während eine Rückführung 3o das hintere Ende der zweiten Führung 28 mit der Hauptführung 27 verbindet. Jeder der obengenannten Stifte 26 greift in die Hauptführung 27 ein und bewegt sich entweder in ihr oder je nach der Stellung der Weiche 29 in der Nebenführung 28 entlang. Gleiten die Stifte in der Nebenführung, so werden die Stößer 24 um ein kurzes Stück auf die Zigaretten zu bewegt, so daß diese verschoben werden. Die Nebenführung 29 ist an einer senkrechten Welle 31, welche mit einem Arm 32 versehen ist, befestigt. Der letztere trägt in der Nähe des freien Endes eine Rolle 33, welches mittels einer Feder 35 gegen den Umfang eines Rades 34 gedrückt wird. Das Rad 34 dreht sich, wie in Fig. i gezeigt ist, in einer dem Uhrsinne entgegengesetzten Richtung und ist mit drei Vertiefungen 36 und drei Erhöhungen 37 versehen. Mit dem Arm 32 arbeitet ein Hebel 38 zusammen, welcher mittels einer Feder 39 so angedrückt wird, daß er normal unter dem Ende des Armes 32 liegt, wenn der letztere auf einer der Erhöhungen 37 des Rades 34 aufliegt. Dadurch kann sich der Arm 32 nicht in eine der Vertiefungen 36 einlegen. In dieser Stellung befindet sich die Weiche 29 außerhalb der Hauptführung, und die einzelnen Stifte 26 an den Stößern bewegen sich in der Hauptführung 27 entlang. Bei dieser Einstellung wird keine Zigarette seitlich bewegt. Kommt jedoch eine Zigarette an die Ermittlungsstelle, deren Aufdruck nach unten gerichtet ist, so wird der Hebel 38 vom Arm 32 abgehoben, so daß die Rolle 33 in eine der Vertiefungen 36 eintreten kann.
