Abstract

Disclosed are a method and a device for guiding and mingling a multifilament yarn during melt-spinning. According to the invention, the yarn is guided by guiding jackets of two partly enveloping or multiple-enveloping godet wheels, the yarn being mingled in a piece of yarn that is tensioned between the godet wheels. In order to be able to maintain the yarn at a predefined tension for mingling, the piece of yarn is guided on one respective smooth circumferential zone of the guiding jackets before and following the mingling process, the surface of said smooth circumferential zones having an average peak-to-valley height of <0.2 ?m. The mingling device is assigned to the smooth circumferential zones of the guiding jackets.
