Die Neuerung besteht aus einer im Innern des Pfeifenkopfes befindlichen verschiebbaren Rostplatte, deren Zweck es ist, den Tabak nach Maafsgabe seiner Verbrennung in die Höhe schieben zu können, so dafs die Verbrennung sich stets an der Oberfläche des Kopfes vollzieht.
