Abstract

The method cleans off coatings from surfaces, particularly when these are to be covered with protective material, using a high-pressure water jewt from a nozzle. Ice particles ar projected against the surface to be cleaned in addition to the water jet, typically in a proportion of 10 25% by weight. The water draining off the surface together with the loosened particles can be collected and the latter filtered out after settling, the water with added ice being redirected at high pressure at the surface.
