Der erfindungsgemäße Deckel ist für den Verschluß eines Behälters 10 vorgesehen, der von einem umlaufenden Mantel 11 gebildet wird. Derartige Behälter finden als Nahrungsmittel behälter im Haushalt Verwendung und erhalten nach dem Einfüllen des Nahrungsmittels, beispielsweise eines kakao haltigen Getränkepulvers, an ihrer Oberseite einen luft dichten Verschluß mit Hilfe einer dünnen Folie 12, beispiels weise einer Aluminiumfolie. Diese ist gegenüber der oberen Stirnseite des Behälters 10 abgesenkt angeordnet und in einem schmalen Streifen 13 an der inneren Oberfläche des Mantels 11 angeklebt. Der Randbereich der Folie 12 erstreckt sich dann über die Oberkante hinweg bis zu einem weiteren schmalen Streifen 14 an der äußeren Oberfläche des Mantels 11. In die so hergestellte Verpackung wird der erfindungsgemäße Deckel hineingedrückt und kann im Haushalt nach dem Anbruch der Verpackung, wobei die Folie 12 herausgeschnitten worden ist, zur einfachen Öffnung und zum Verschluß des Behälters 10 jederzeit dienen.
