Die Lasteinleitung von der äußeren Prothese in den Amputationsstumpf erfolgt weitgehend über Reibungskräfte in der Grenzfläche zwischen dem Stumpf und dem Zylindermantel des topfförmigen Teils der äußeren Prothese. - Diese Form der Stumpfversorgung hat jedoch den Nachteil, daß die beteiligten Hautpartien des Patienten in an sich unphysiologischer Weise belastet und daher häufig überlastet werden, was zu Schwielenbildung und zu Entzündungen führt.
