Abstract

The device, for improving cold-starting of an I.C. engine, comprises a chamber (10) which is in direct connection with the main lubricating oil duct of the engine. The chamber contains a heating element, which can alternatively be mounted about the chamber. The heating element is pref. an electrical resistor, and may still further be housed in a separate unit installed between the main oil duct and an oil filter. The heating of oil allows the diesel engine to reach its critical starting revolution speed even in very cold weather.
