Abstract

The nail correction clasp is a resilient steel strip (Fig. 3) of a length necessary for the respective width of a toe nail, a rubber profile (Fig. 4) being pushed on at each end. These rubber profiles are then affixed to the two nail ends lying opposite each other (Fig. 5). In the case of nails which are very considerably arched and ingrown, it is also possible first to affix these rubber profiles to the respective nail ends lying opposite each other and then to introduce the resilient steel strip (Fig. 5). This results in an upward levering action on both ends of the nail, as a result of which the ingrown nail is gradually raised from the depression of the nail bed and, thus, leads to flattening of the nail and of the nail bed. <IMAGE>
