Abstract

The invention relates to spring struts or vibration dampers, which are closed by partial pressing in of the receiver end, as a result of which a plurality of projections directed radially inwards is formed. A facility for easy repair, which allows parts to be replaced or a vibration damper insert to be fitted without altering the receiving length, is created by the present invention. This object is achieved in that the projections directed radially inwards are removed by means of a tool and the receiver, in the guiding and sealing area, has a stop acting in an axial direction on its outer surface, whilst a closing part, provided with a counter-stop, is provided.
