Abstract

1. Process for the blast treatment of easily damaged brittle workpieces like malleable cast iron parts or gray cast iron parts of casting cluster bodies in a moving ballast consisting of workpieces and auxiliary bodies, wherein the auxiliary bodies are of abrasive medium and at least the workpieces are inserted into an abrasive medium bed present in the blasting area, during the blasting treatment the amount of abrasive agent in the moving ballast is kept almost constant and after the blasting treatment the abrasive medium is separated from workpieces outside the blasting area, and the ballast is rotated by a rotary movement.
