Abstract

The spillage protection system for a liquid container prevents waste of fuel when used with a fuel tank, and spillage of dangerous fluids when used with a holder for chemical substances. The filling tube which extends outwards from the filling opening of the tank retains a ring of metal or plastics mesh material, through which the delivery tube must be inserted. This produces foaming, which is an indication that the tank is full. The insert can also be fitted inside the flanged neck of a container. Alternatively, the mesh ring can be mounted round the outside of the delivery tube so that it is compressed inside the flanged neck or filler tube when inserted.
