Abstract

A method of temp. adjustment of several samples for certain analytical processes if pref. for CSB measurement. It eliminates the problem of temp. fluctuations conventionally experienced once the desired temp. has been reached. Facilities are provided for drainage of spilt acid. The sample containers are placed in holes bored through a block of material, pref. aluminium, of good thermal conductivity. The block is heated from below a special heating plate in direct contact bath with the block and the containers. The arrangement results in both direct and indirect heat transfer. The block contains special channels which carry away acid safely if container defects occur. The acid is fed to a special outlet for decontamination. The number of containers can be varied as required but is pref. 6,12 or 24.
